So, of the nigh on 400 TVs supported in BBC iplayer for the Blue Planet II  HLG episodes none are from Samsung. Oh joy.

...

Moderator edit: Original thread title was "Blue Planet 2 HLG - No Samsung". With the OP's permission, the title was changed on 12/03/2018 to accurately reflect the dominant theme of the thread as it has progressed. If the reader would like to know more about the HLG format, please check out the BBC's page and FAQ's on it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/projects/high-dynamic-range Thank you, AntS.

Cheers @Lensy. I've added you. Which of the issues are you disappointed about specifically?

I've been reading this thread with interest as another owner of a UE49KS7000 TV; like many here I find myself very dissapointed by the apparent change in message coming from Samsung with regards support for this tv.

I haven't started the process of trying to get a refund for the TV as others have in this thread because I still have some faint hope that Samsung will 'do the right thing' (as it were); however I'm certainly considering it at this point in time.

Please add my voice to the others!

@AntS. Thank you for your response. And thank you for expediting our concerns up the chain.  We all appreciate your work but can Samsung not provide a definitive statement? Some of us have small hope that Samsung will fulfill their promises.  I do feel that if Samsung don't provide HLG and HDR10+ upgrade soon Samsung will lose many of their loyal customers.  I for one am encouraging as many KS owners as possible to speak up. If Samsung are under the impression that  they can ride through this storm, they would be mistaken as many people of us have spent 1000's of hard earned pounds on their TV's. And will fight all the way for their rights.  Thanks again for your support AntS.

@Jay108 and @crashcris: No updates on this as of yet. Various people above me are aware of the feelings that you guys have and why. I’ve spent quite a bit of time compiling and regularly updating a report for them that summarises this thread (and the KS Owners Refund one) with how the issue – or issues – stated in it affect each of you individually, along with providing specific examples of posts. How the discussion that’s all being used in ultimately ends up, I really I don’t know.

In the meantime, if any of you guys come across other owners of K or J series TVs that share your feelings, please encourage them to post in this thread, and I'll be happy to add them to any and i  reporting back I'm doing.

@AntS please pass my sincere Thanks to those chaps in Samsung support call center, it is only because of them I managed to get this piece of beauty LGE OLED C7

To be fair Samsung Facebook support is awesome but those call center folks are complete a***holes and I used to call them all sort of name but still credit where due :smileywink:

This is my scond Samsung to LG migration, Now I have succesfully convinnce more than ten people to opt for either LG or Sony

Thats what I think, if Samsung was to do anything they would have said sooner rather than later so I think they are just riding out the storm until people give up.

@Definitely appreciate the work @AntS is doing, and out of curiousity what tv do you have?

That's easy, he'll have an LG OLED.

When I bought my 65ks9500 last January  it was a choice between the ks and the LG b6. What swung it for me was seeing that Samsung said in trusted reviews that they would be supporting HLG,  no mention except BBC iplayer.  LG were none comital.  Wish I had got the LG,  and I wouldn't be on these forums fighting the good fight.

Hi there.

I have been looking at this thread for a while now, thinking that just maybe, Samsung would do the right thing, and just accept their responsibility with regards these tv's, of which I have one, a KS497000 purchased from John Lewis in 2016, and get thses issues sorted.

The only issue I have is that said tv is in a holday let of ours, so may be problematic it getting it sorted considering where it is etc.

So I guess, I'm yet another dissatisfied customer that needs to be added to this ever growing list.
