anyone got experiernce of similar issue? UE49NU7100 tv has dark shadow on left side of screen. About 3 yrs old so would expect its not under warranty but also not sure how to check.
Have completed recommended checks i.e. surge protection, and comfirmed its not just source issue. Its a little disappointing and not the first time have had issues with screen on samsung tv - will be staying away in future

Similar issue with AU900. Appears the backlight is gone and can see shadows trailing from the middle of the screen to to all four corners. Issue occured about 14 months after purchase and is out of warranty. I contacted Samsung and they agreed to a one off repair as I was still within 18 months or purchase. After numerous correspondence over 3 months I am now told that I have to pay for the repair as it is over 18 months since purchase. Samsung delayed the issue long enough to bring me out of the 18 months period. Never buying Samsung again.

I have the same issue as well it’s a manufacturing fault. I am going to email CEO Samsung UK Hadrian Baumann. If they don’t resolve it I will take them to small claims court. It’s under 3 years old and the issue started nearly after 1.5 years and I thought may be we did something wrong but this issue is common in their TV’s. Let’s report to Trading standards also

Did any one ever find out a fix for this. Mine does it but it does come and go. Seems to be when changing channel

I bought in Sept 2018. Black line like in the post appeared March 2024, so 5.5yrs including pandemic watching cannot possibly be anywhere like 50000 hours but now it has this black thing... I am told SGD87 for technician check if nothing to be done, SGD174 if i proceed with repair, and most likely this kind of problem is a replacement of the LED panel costing SGD1,600 so yes, it is kind of pointless to repair at that cost level. So Samsung customer service offered to send a promo code to get a discount if i buy a new tv from their website directly, discount could be as big as 20% (for the expensive models I guess)... so there you go...

Did you get anywhere with this in the end? We just had the same issue of it moving around. About to ditch it and get an OLED but would rather get it fixed!

SGD1600 (USD1200) is a lot of money considering the choices of new TVs available nowadays… some people might pay but I think I wouldn’t

Seems to be and I’m not happy about it either. Contacted an authorized service dealer and they want $250 just to come out and that doesn’t include any repairs. It’s estimated to run about $500 total. Might as well buy a new TV for that repair cost.
