Galaxy watch ultra - LTE issues

Hi all,

I purhcased a GWU yesterday with a esim plan for LTE connection.

When connected to bluetooth, it runs amazing but when I turn off bluetooth, I can send a text but its delayed in getting to the receiver - if they reply, I do get it but ages later - no notification and only if I check the messages app.

I cannot make or receive calls - if i ty to make a call it says call ended straight away.

My provider has tested my network and can see the sim is connected, they've confirmed it is not a location issue as the network is excellent in my location and my mobile is full bars and works perfectly.

Does anyone know what I can try? my provider has sent it off for investigation.

This seems to be a common issue with EE. As per other posts I have the same issue. Plan connected data works fine on the watch but will not make calls. EE have re-apploed the e-sim, removed my plan, added a new one to no effect and now they have gone quiet.

Does anyone that had the issue, and resolved it, know what EE did to fox it? It seems they have no clue so being able to tell them what to do would help.

I made a post in the Android device section of the EE forum. Perhaps a few more people adding to the post with the same issue will convince them to take it seriously as an issue. I'm just being fobbed off at the moment.

I had the same issue and had to return it. I ordered a new one which worked fine but this one does make and receive calls while BT is turned off but I can receive but not send txt. Bloody weird. I doubt EE knows how to fix it tbh....could be a Samsung issue

I actually think swapping the watch is a co-incidence and it has more to do with new plan/e-sim, or swapping it over to a different watch (the act of swapping it - disable/enable esim or whatever). There are so many reports of this, all with EE, but watches from different vendors - direct from Samsung, Amazon, From EE with a plan etc. I have also seen a few reports of people with exactly the same issue, reported to EE who were apparently clueless, but then it just started randomly working. I have seen more people swapping watches and having the same issue, than people swapping watches and it fixing it. Also seen more people keeping the same watch and it magically start working, or EE sorting it, than I have people fixing it by swapping watches..

That's could very much be the case and I just got lucky but personally I didn't want to be tied to a contract for a possible faulty product. If it a watch issue then Samsung need to do something about it and the same to EE if the issue is theirs but as a consumer I'm getting too old to purchase hope or a promise.

no the only thing that worked when watch was not on Bluetooth was the data side. 4g side of the watch did not work at all so no call or texts sending or receiving

i went  through so many things with them i do believe ee have not yet got the software for this watch and are using the watch 6 soft wear to track the faults this is my second watch just ordering a 3rd replacement

to be perfectly honest  i very much sounds like a software issues of connecting to the 4 g network is the issue

So just spoke to EE today for the last hour various levels on tech people.

Apparently EE are aware of the issue and are trying to resolve it.

The generic reference is INC0000019015 - Fault Ref number of Known issue

Hopefully it's sorted soon.

Ah amazing, so it's a network issue. Good news is that once they fix it we'll all get it, hopefully won't have to call them again!
