Hi,

I have a Samsung UE55MU6470UXXU TV. I seem to be getting these strange white lines coming through on the TV.

Any idea on what this is called/how it can be fixed?

See below, i have cicled in red where these lines appear.

I am experiencing the same problem with my 65’ LED tv. Purchased a little over 3 years ago. Don’t want to replace this early and would prefer to repair. I am trying to get an estimate and will report back.

Same thing is happening to my TV from 2017 recently the lines have been appearing. I hope this is not a common thing with Samsung Tvs. Out of warranty and the repair guy will be in tomorrow. Hopefully is as much as the guy above me said $222.

Hello, so question did you see them fix it and you know for sure it was the backlights? Like the light strips because everyone here is trying to charge me $450 or more just to get it fix. But I feel like I can fix it myself.  Any details would be appreciated if you know.

No i Didn't..

They are the official Samsung Agent ,

They send a guy he immediately recognised the problem  said its backlight.. Then he ordered the backlight 7 or 10 days later they came picked it then returned it fixed..

But i asked 2 local repair shops before calling samsung first guys said its the backlight but its not available in his shop now ..

The second guy also said its the backlight but he advised me not to try to fix it locally and told me to call Samsung Agent ..he said to tell them its qled ..

Even though i cant be sure its backlight .  The sure thing is that it shouldn't cost more than 225 .. i live in Jordan and electronics here are very expensive because of the high tax ..

I paid 160 Jd =225 usd ..

Ok i went back to an Audio msg sent to me by samsung guy
He said exactly this
"you have a problem with the backlight which is a reflector that reflect between the Led and the screen"

Then there is this repair ticket :

When your backlights begin to fail, they will get extra hot. Hot enough to melt the diffuser plate in the area closest to the backlights. The diffuser plate goes underneath the Lcd panel and looks like a big magnifying glass. It helps spread the led backlight evenly behind the screen. Most of these TV's are probably edge lit.

The effect you see is a symptom of failing or failed backlights. Even if you replace the backlights, if you don't replace the diffuser, it'll still be there.

Of course, it's also possible to damage the diffuser without burnt out backlights. But that's rare without actually damaging the lcd panel.

In order to fix this you'll need to be able to know how to remove the lcd panel without damaging it. You'll probably want some tools like big suction cups etc. There are YouTube videos on how to do it.
