Hello,
I am trying to fix my parents Samsung TV F6500 which has stopped connecting to Internet since a few weeks. Here is my diagnosis: The TV won't connect to Internet using wifi or Ethernet throught their usual provider. When I use my 4G phone as an access point, the TV connects normally.
These are the solutions I have already tried and that didn't work:
- Reseting the ISP's router + changing it's IP adress
- Factory reset of the Samsung TV (using the Auto-diag menu and the secret menu that you access pressing different buttons on the remote)
- Changing DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.
- Updating the firmware
- Calling the ISP's hotline
'
My questions are :
- Is it possible to do a factory reset that includes the Network connections?
- Has anybody had the exact same issue as my parents?
- Even after the factory reset, the TV continues to say that the firmware is up to date, is it possible to remove the updated firmware?
I am out of options and the Smart Hub is now useless. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The solution for me was to hit the WPS(PBC) Button on the front of my router 👍🏽

This worked for me. I too tried numerous "fixes" but this was the one that worked.

I have the same problem and more. My remote or another remote can't change the channels or volume. I spent 4 hours on Samsung tech support and they gave up. They claim it's hardware. I lost smart hub apps so no nflx no prime etc. I can only watch the channel the comcast box has and can't change volume. The repair shop is estimating $259-$349, could be more, could be less. Searching CNET, reddit, this board, many ppl have this prb over many models over many years. Good luck

I feel STUPID! I resolved my issue. Unfortunately, it was a self inflicted problem that I've been researching and trouble shooting all day. I recently purchased Google Nest, and have 3 points. I have the access to turn wifi connections off to any given device connected to my internet. I use the function to manually shut down my son's internet- video games when his time is up. When doing so at bedtime last night, I inadvertently paused the internet access to my TV too. Basically I fat fingered. It did not even cross my mind until my son just asked me 30 minutes ago to please turn his internet back on. Theb wa la! Problem fixed. It took time to re-enter all my user ids and passwords to the apps on my tv- because I reset it like 4 times. I can't be the only one this has happened to. Uggggg

This was possibly the simplest thing to do but worked. So, thank you very much.

I found a fix that seems to work. Just change the password of your WIFI on the modem. It is a pain because you are going to have to sign in on all of your devices with the new password. I did this a couple days ago and everything is good.
