I have Samsung UE85DU8000UXUA connected to local network with WiFi and with Ethernet. Local network is closed and without internet.
Airplay refuses to work. TV blinked an error few times “Unable to connect to Samsung server. Try again later.”

AirPlay is perfectly able to work without external connections, but something in Samsung smart tv makes it unable to do so.

Is there a way to make it work?

Hi! This doesn’t solve the issue. Local network has no internet, and Samsung smart tv shown error clearly: Can’t connect to external server. AirPlay shouldn't require external services to work.

Yes. And it only get worse. AirPlay got disabled at all. After Smart Hub reset.  Rebooting router to establish internet - obviously didn’t work, contacting Apple too, used four different Apple devices with different iOS. How is this even supposed to help? So, now I need somehow to give smart tv internet to enable AirPlay again, then switch back to current network.

Although AirPlay does not require an Internet connection to mirror content from your phone to your TV, an Internet connection is required during the initial setup process. When you connect your Samsung TV, a code appears on the screen that you must enter on your iPhone. The TV requests the code over the Internet and requires a connection to Samsung and Apple servers.

o connect your TV to your iPhone using AirPlay, follow these steps:

  1. Enable the hotspot on your iPhone.
  2. Connect your Samsung TV to the iPhone's hotspot.
  3. Set up the AirPlay connection between your phone and the TV.
  4. Once the connection is established, connect both your TV and phone to your home Wi-Fi router.

After completing these steps, AirPlay should work smoothly.

Firstly, I don't have mobile coverage here. That's what I said - No internet. It means no mobile internet, no starlink internet, no wireless internet, or wired internet, or any other kinds of external connections. Just to activate smartHub was a problem, and reactivate after reset of SmartHub was a problem too.  Secondly, what about DLNA then? Does it requires some "code" from samsung servers too?
Initial setup for AirPlay was completed beforehand. It connects without any problem. Problems start when TV trying to play something from iOS. It's the same with DLNA.
DLNA worked about an hour and stopped, demanding internet connection. AirPlay and DLNA are positioned as local network services. As far as I checked this kind of thing is against guidelines of DLNA service.
So, Practical question. What local network features of Samsung SmartTV requires "Big Brother" from internet? What local network features will be blocked without internet? I don't feel like I read any of this when purchased this TV in any descriptions.
