My oven door exploded this afternoon while cooking biscuits on a low temperature. I’ve only had it since last November so I’m shocked. The glass flew all over the kitchen and I was just lucky my daughter didn’t get hurt. Is this a common problem?! Had many ovens over the years and never ever had one with doors that explode! I’ve contacted Curry’s where I bought it from but I’m really shocked and now have no usable oven. Can anyone help point me in right direction to get this sorted out? Thank you.

Hi there @RTrobridge

I’m sorry to say they’ve done nothing so far, except calling me. I had to buy a new oven (AEG, never buying any Samsung product again, their behaviour is appalling).

I’m, however, taking this as far as I legally can. There’s cases like ours all over the internet, and they keep selling the ovens.

My oven has had the igniters replace three times ..  now the stupid thing blows after lighting ...   I know the igniter is working you can see the red glow ... when you turn the overn on.  Scares the wife to death and worried its going to actually explode before too much longer.   I need to know what Samsung has done to rectify this issue.    What is the issue with these Samsung gas stoves ???????

Today my bottom oven door exploded when I opened it to put in a tray. It wasn't turned on, I didn't even touch the glass. I've had the oven for about 3 years, I called Samsung support in my country and they just gave me the phone number for an appliance repair shop that they work with. When I called, the repair shop said I needed to pay for the technician to come, they didn't tell me whether the piece is available and how much changing it would cost, so I called Samsung back, I told them it's not normal fot them to not be involved since this is most likely a design fault, especially since it happened to other people with the bottom glass. They told me it doesn't concern them and that I should talk to the repair shop and basically pay for everything. Whatever the price is, cause I can't even know that.
Good customer support Samsung, appliances just explode and it's not their problem...

Hi Folks,

The lower glass on my Samsung door spontaneously exploded this morning.

I was 5 feet away at the time, no other person was near it. What should my next steps be?

TIA,

Martin C

I purchased My Samsung oven Nov. 17 2023 from best buy with geek squad protection plan. On Feb. 15th 2024 I was making cornbread at 400 degrees and heard a loud pop. I went to investigate and found the inner glass inside the oven door had shattered. I called best buy and said it wasn't covered since it's considered physical damage. Boy was I upset, how is that physical damage when it shattered on its own while in use. I hope samsung manufacturers warranty makes this right or I will never purchase another Samsung product as that is all I've ever bought. Not even 3 months old and this happens

From what I see from people writing about these stoves having manufacture issues with the gas igniting causing explosions.   All I can say, i foresee a class action lawsuit coming real soon.  My wife starts her stove and gets out of the way just incase the ***** thing blows the door off the hinges..  Our kitchen is so small that anyone in the way will get hurt.   I want to hear from Samsung on getting these issues resolve .... and best be quick before someone dies due to their negligence.
