Email scroll lock

So over the last couple of weeks while using the Samsung email app, I'm having issues with what feels like some type of scroll lock.

I can open the app, select which email account I want to read, and can scroll with zero issues, but as soon as I try to reply to an email or compose an email it won't allow me to scroll down the screen.

I've included a screen recording of whats happening, as it will make more sense. Dont worry this is just a spam mail that isnt even using my correct email haha.

Now this happens no matter if its Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail. 

Am I missing a setting somewhere that switches on some weird scroll lock? I'm just using the standard settings, and havent changed anything.

I have the latest updates and software of one UI8, but ut was also doing this before I updated.

Yes the slowness was the first 'symptom' - cursor just flashing not letting me type.  Then the 'can't scroll and access keyboard' thing .  At first it only affected my gmail accounts, and could be cleared by closing and reopening the email I was trying to reply to.  Now it's affecting all my accounts and like all the other posters,  I've found no fix - restart app, restart phone etc make no difference.    I can still reply to short emails,  but if they extend beyond the keyboard height I can no longer scroll to view and continue the reply - it just jumps back behind the keyboard and doesn't accept input if I try to blind-type.  Started with gmail about a week ago, affected all accounts since last Thursday (13/11/25)

How do you log a complaint at the Samsung Store? Im also having the same issue,but couldn't find an option anywhere to log a complaint?!

Unlike lambc, I'm able to blind type and it works ok - can't check my spelling though!

This has been happening to me on a S20+ for MONTHS, before the middle of the year. Had 2x email app updates since, no fix

I have the same scrolling problem with the email replay on my S24. Any fixes?

Same problem on my X110. IT NEEDS FIXING SAMSUNG. Ruins your reputation. The fault must lie within the "composed email" section of code. TEMP WORKAROUND: tap screen to place cursor at either top or bottom, depending on which way you want to scroll, so long as cursor remains visible, display is stable.

Same issue for me. It is so annoying. I hope that samsung fixes it. 

I have an idea. Let's all contact the samsung support so that they know that this problem has prio1.

Brand new s25 ultra here and having the same issue. I have to move my cursor to the bottom of the page, scroll a little bit and then repeat this over and over until I am able to get to where I need to be and then do it all over again to get back to the top to proof read my email. Very frustrating indeed. Deleting app and reinstalling does NOT work, only more painful to re-ad all the emails back.

Hello ALL. my personal phone, S23 ULTRA has exactly the same issue. Ive just checked with my work phone, S25 Ultra, and it does not have the same issue. Both running exactly the same software versions and app versions.
This appears that its limited to older Samsungs.

I wonder if its an android-samsung interface issue thats been brought on by one of the previous updates.

Incidentally, I have a problem with Facebook comments too. When posting a comment, I cant use the return tab to space down to the next line. Again, just on the S23, not the S25.
Both of these issues started about a month ago for me at around the same time.
