I have had the same problem for a few weeks on my S23, using the built in email app. As well as not being able to scroll down to the message to which I'm replying, many of the words I typed were duplicating beside the original as I typed. I turned off predicting text & any other aid. The doubled words stopped.
I continually saved my draft & immediately reopened it to be able to scroll down to see what needed replying in the sender's email. So, I know my draft was saved. I had to leave my incompleted email for several hours, which was saved many times. When I opened my draft to continue, all but the first sentence of my reply had disappeared.
This is driving me nuts too.

Unfortunately uninstalling and reinstalling the app probably won't solve it. I tried that, then tried a factory reset, but the problem persists. Samsung support don't seem to have any clue what the problem is. As email is one of the most used app on my phone i'm seriously thinking I will need to buy a new phone - not Samsung!

This just started happening with me too. Once I hit reply it continues to go back to the top. I was going to clear cache but can see from everyone's replies that it didnt improve. I hope to hear that everyone receives a resolution soon.

I also have this problem. I've actually been typing email replies in Notes and then copying and pasting it into the email. It is driving me insane. Galaxy S25 ultra.

Suggestion in earlier post works - Touch the Subject or Email address field and you can scroll. Temporary workaround for now.

Curious that nobody has mentioned ditching Samsung email and installing a 3rd party app instead. This "feature"/bug is a show stopper for me, so I installed Edison Email yesterday. I'm traveling right now, so don't have a lot of time, but if I can find a decent alternative solution, then Samsung email is gone. Anyone have thoughts/suggestions on alternative email apps?

I use my Samsung S23's email app, but the first poster wrote he had the problem with gmail, yahoo, & hotmail. Could the problem be in the phone software & not the email app.

Maybe, although I took that to mean those particular email accounts within his Samsung email app versus separate email apps.

I did yesterday. I'm using the Gmail client for now.

OK; I didn't think of that. I appreciate an earlier message, suggesting for now, to tap on the address field or subject line. That allows scrolling. I tried it & it worked for me. It's something until a permanent fix is found.
