Hi all.. I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I've had my S22 U for just 1 day and I can't figure out why my PC doesn't see it.
Using a USB-C to USB-AI connevt the phone to the pc, I swipe down the noti. area, and there is the setting labled 'Cable Charging'. When I click on this It is supposed to open the 'what do you want to do' Transfer photoes, files etc.. But it instead goes to the battery page.
I have enabled USB debugging and Transferring files is selected..
Have tried a couple of different cables and a couple of different USB ports.
I've installed DEX (not sure what it is really), and that doesnt recognise when my phone is connected.
I can pair them via Bluetooth, but can only xfer files only, not folders. So music will take far too much time.
Win 11
Hope someone can enlighten me..
Thanks so much
Tracy

Hi I got it fixed by going to settings on my computer and adding it (my phone) as a device. I have a new Samsung, but my old phone connected without any fuss.

I went into my computer's settings and added it as a device. It’s a Windows 10 PC. If you also are on Windows 10, I can give you the step by step instructions. Let me know and I will get back to you if you'd like to try what I did.

Hi I have set swiched a Battery Saving mode on mine and it helped instantly. But I do agree that it's not a great phone at all...

I went with a better charging cable (for a 45w charger). My computer (Windows 10 Desktop PC) luckily had a USB C port. It worked. I fiddled with the settings that came up when I plugged it in (don't remember what I did). Anyway, the S22 Ultra doesn't come with a charging cable (nor does the entire S22 line, I believe). So, I bought a hefty cable from Amazon (No, I don't work for Amazon FYI). I just ordered a second cable to use in my car (even if it is a bit long for use in a car). This is the info on the cable I bought:
BLAUBECK USB C Cable 100W 6.6ft TPE Cord USB C to USB C Fast Charge 5A 20V. Best of luck.

This just happened to me. It is an easy fix. You are using the wrong type of cable. There are charging/data cables and then there are cables made just to charge. You need to purchase a cable that specifically says charging and DATA.

The cord I mentioned earlier worked for me (I was able to access the files on my phone through my PC). A larger point in all this is -- it's what happens when a manufacturer doesn't include a charging cable with their new phones. I paid a lot for mine buying directly from Samsung. I don't regret getting the phone, but a charging cable is a must-have and should have been a no-brainer included with the purchase.
Here is the cable I eventually bought on Amazon:
BLAUBECK USB C Cable 100W 6.6ft TPE Cord USB C to USB C Fast Charge 5A 20V.
Note it is USB C (not a standard full size USB plug). These cables are solid (at least they appear to be. They are not flimsy at all.
Good luck

I had exactly the same problem. I tried with 4 of my trusty well-working high-speed USB-A -> C cables. None worked.
Then I remembered that I had a C->C cable somewhere, and that actually worked. It didn't work as well as I expected, the connection was always closed after a few minutes, so I installed My Phone Explorer (Free) on the phone and the PC, and now I'm independent of cables or anything. Wifi, BT and USB, all work perfectly.
I have absolutely no idea why normally working cables don't work for data, even those which do "fast charge".

After months of facing the same issue as everyone here in this forum, I finally got it to work . All I needed to do was install Smart switch onto my phone as well as my PC, make sure the smart switch app is enabled on phone (mine was disabled hence why I could not connect to PC) . Use a proper data cable > plug in > unlock phone > swipe down and select USB configuration option and click file transfer. Done
