This has to stop. Since the last update my phone signal has be non existent making my phone essentially a heavy paper weight. Samsung need to start owning up to this

Done everything. All users get this issue after an update and samsung know about it and allow it to carry on happening.

Cleared cache, reset handset, tried the sim in a different phone and it works fine all i have done is updated the phone. Look into it, it is a common issue

Sorry to hear you have problems with the signal. Unfortunately phones age and components in the fail to work. If you think it's worth the effort, take it to a trusted phone shop, not the neighbourhood ones, and ask them to check the antenna and the sim tray for you. Of course this means they will have to open the phone for this. Could be software but also could be hardware.
