Hi all.. I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I've had my S22 U for just 1 day and I can't figure out why my PC doesn't see it.

Using a USB-C to USB-AI connevt the phone to the pc, I swipe down the noti. area, and there is the setting labled 'Cable Charging'. When I click on this It is supposed to open the 'what do you want to do' Transfer photoes, files etc.. But it instead goes to the battery page.

I have enabled USB debugging and Transferring files is selected..

Have tried a couple of different cables and a couple of different USB ports.

I've installed DEX (not sure what it is really), and that doesnt recognise when my phone is connected.

I can pair them via Bluetooth, but can only xfer files only, not folders. So music will take far too much time.

Win 11

Hope someone can enlighten me..

Thanks so much

Tracy

When you connect the phone to the comp keep the phone unlocked. If you open file explorer does it display the phone? You are not on work computer by any chance? Also what version Windows?

Hi.

I'm on Win 11. My phone doesn't show up in win explorer. Also if doesnt show up in Portable Devices in Device Manager either. When I connect the  Huawei it shows up in there every time, so I'm guessing this is an issue.. I'm so fed up! 🙃

Hi @Tourbillon De La Vie

I contacted Samsung and after telling the guy the steps I've been trying over the last couple of days, and he recommends contacting EE.. lol

So I'll be contacting them in the morning... Well maybe.. I can use an FTP app to connect the 2.. maybe I'll just stick with that.. It's quick and easy..

Thanks for your help!

Try Samsung Smart Switch for Windows. Just in case it works. Try EE too again because nothing to lose except of course time

Hi again.

After messing about for almost 3 days.. nothing worked. I did find a great alternative though.

I can transfer files, very fast, over Wifi. I got a program called wififtpserver.

I hope this can help anyone else who comes across this issue.

Thanks for your help @Tourbillon De La Vie

Appreciate it.

I was convinced to buy a new phone when my other one was working fine, and tbh this one just sucks. I now have the Samsung Galaxy S22 because I wanted a smaller sixed phone. The Battery is awful, after just a couple hours of just browsing Tik Tok it dies, when before I could play 3 games simultaneously and still have 86% Battery by 5p. I have been having the exact same problem, and have tried everything, and no computer will recognize this stupid phone. I will use your recommendation to finally back up my files, then I am switching back to my other phone. I hate this phone.

Give the phone a couple of weeks. Apparently it learns you habits and adjusts your battery accordingly. After coming from a Huawei mate 20 pro, ( for the last 4 years), this S22 Ultra is the best phone I have ever had. There was nothing wrong with my old phone either. Just wanted to treat myself. My battery is not that good either, but I'm willing to give it another week.
And .. the cameras are fantastic. I still can't connect via USB, but like I posted I have the FTP program which works great. If you have a cool off period, use it until the day before, if you still don't like it, send it back. But for me, it's a beautiful phone, and it's fast. I love it. Good luck to you.
