Hi,

My daughter got a new #A52 5G phone. She set up a password and cannot remember it at all! I have been trying for hours to get it to do a factory reset but when it powers back on it just goes back to the lock screen. It's driving me mad!

Any tips? I have watched lots of YT videos but it's just not playing ball.

Thanks

Thank you for your answer.

Yes I tried:

Samsung Find my mogile - not found

Google find my mobile, - not found

wipe cache partition - did not help

Phone is connected to WIFI, the phone rings and you can talk, but when i run the "make a sound" function from samsung or google cloud, the phone is silent.

The phone replies to the PING.

Do you have any ideas, this data is the most important in the world to me.

Thanks for giving this a try @prrr1

I know how important data is for you. However, if you are unable to find the phone using any of these methods or the PIN the only way to get inside it again would be by having this bypassed by one of our engineers, which means that all the data will be wiped, I'm afraid. Please do follow this link to get this arranged: Book Your Repair with an Authorised Service Centre | Samsung UK

Thank you for your answer @TessM

I don't care about the device, I only care about the data. I bought a new A53. I can't lose this data.

It's not my fault the update was buggy. Please help.

I'm really sorry to hear that you experienced this issue with the update @prrr1 . While we would love to retrieve this data, we would be unable to access this if the phone is not accepting the PIN or any other ways to unlock it. Did you backed up your data before all that happens?

Thank you!  That was the clincher...after trying it at least 15 times...plugging it into the computer, made the 'hold power and volume down and then volume up ' scenario work.

I factory reset the phone!

@Surajnyadav1984: If you have forgotten your Lock screen password, then you can arrange for an authorised Samsung engineer to unlock your phone. If you head to samsung.com > Scroll to the bottom of the page > Contact us, and reach out via your preferred contact method, then an advisor can get this arranged for you. Please note that you will be required to provide a copy of your proof of purchase to verify ownership of the device, as your query relates to a security feature of the device.

It may be possible for you to remotely back up your personal data via Find My Mobile on a PC or Mac. To find out more, please take a look at the link below and click on 'Backing up my device'.
