I just bought Samsung TU8072 UE43TU8072UXXH as it's manual states there is USB recording available.
I have inserted 2 USB storage devises - USB stick and later HDD, both work normally as AV content source but there is no option to record aerial live broadcasting.
In EPG single option is: set timer to view.
no recording no timeshift etc ...
If USB storage has to be formatted for Samsung TV then how?
All my TV's have supported this function so far and I hope very much, that I haven't bought a wrong model now.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

@ashdrop: Can you try heading to Settings > General > System Manager > Time > Clock, to make sure that the TV's clock is set to the right time? If it is, please make sure that you are using a USB hard disk that supports USB 2.0 or higher, and that there is more than 100MB free on the device, as this is recommended by the user manual. For further guidance, please check pages 135-136 of the user manual via the link below.

Hi AndrewL, thanks for attempts to help.
USB devices are both ver. 3.0, 128 GB stick and 4TB Maxtor HDD.
Both are visible as content sources.
I checked time settings ... changed "auto" to manual but still there is no "record" option in program menu. When pressing OK button there only appears "schedule viewing".
Same result with timer menu.
When presently I'm trying to record free (encrypted) channel, doesn't Samsung recordable USB storage require special encrypted formatting of storage device?
But I either couldn't find any USB storage prepare/format option in menus 😞

Appears to be a nasty habit of Samsung to add into manual functions not present on all models of series .... with comment in manual "this function may be not available in all countries".
I returned Samsung TV set to shop and bought LG TV cheaper and all functions as expected.
