QE65QN85D - If connected to a Freesat Recordable set-top box can I still access the Samsung tv apps, in particular, NowTV ?

Good afternoon all,

I have the above tv and is connected to a Sky Q box. Price-wise Sky is getting too expensive and I am looking to go back to Freesat.

My question is - If connected to a Freesat Recordable set-top box can I still access the Samsung tv apps, in particular, NowTV (for Sky Sports)? (Freesat does not have this app)

Furthermore, would I be able to record NowTV programmes?

I would appreciate any information

Hi @Ryston17  Welcome to the Samsung Community 

yes you can access the Tv apps regardless via the Source option,  cannot record apps via USB/external Hard Drive due to DRM  (Digital Rights Management)  .   However certain shows are available via catch up or Box sets with Now TV Entertainment Membership.  https://help.nowtv.com/article/can-not-find-show-i-am-looking-for

For Sports think it is just selected catch up which may well just be highlights.
