Samsung Frame 2020 and Sonos Amp connected via HDMI ARC
When I change the sound output to built-in TV speakers in Samsung TV, it automatically changes back to HDMI ARC sound output in a few seconds.
Sometimes I want to use the TV with its built-in speakers, so I don't want it to always automatically and persistently switch to the HDMI ARC sound output.
How can I disable this automatic switching?

Any news on this problem? I have the same problem on the Q95T.

Samsung Frame 65” 2021 (5 weeks old = feeling so very hosed), Sonos Beam + P1 (X2) 2017, Apple AirPods 2021. Sonos gen 1 Beam works fine UNTIL you try to use AirPods via Bluetooth. HDMI eArc continuously hijacks connection making it impossible to use AirPods/Bluetooth audio (which I used to use constantly, it matters). One of the workarounds was multi audio (I believe) where you turn volume on Sonos all the way down then AirPods will still have modest volume that oh so conveniently, you can’t control. This is crazy… a couple of quick calls to Sonos referring me to Samsung. Countless hours with Samsung tech support. Zero acknowledgment that this is a known issue. They’ve actually suggested I have someone come to the house for a repair? Rabbit hole. I can’t even. Hearing that connecting Sonos via optical works but then some posting that it does not. For those that do get it to work, some functionality with Sonos is lost (Dolby Atmos & Alexa?). Gen 1 Beam = no Dolby Atmos anyway and Frame has Alexa so maybe? Can’t find old optical adapter, going to have to purchase and hope it works ($25 via Sonos). Hey, Sonos. Can you send me a replacement optical adapter given my continued investment in your products? No? Ok! I just got rid of a beautiful but 10 year old Sony without Bluetooth that worked like a charm with this setup through Apple TV. Old Apple TV = no 4K. Sigh. May end up having to buy latest Apple TV if nothing else works. Sad brick on once pristine wall AND I get to spend more time and money merely hoping to get basic functionality? Gah!!!

Exactly the same problem here. Looks like this will never get fixed. Get a grip samsung, this is ridiculous. Fix your software.

I had the same problem and I realise this might not be a proper solution for everyone but the problem is gone when you just unplug the HDMI-cable from the TV and your paired headphones will work fine and it (obviously) will not switch to the Beam or Arc again. After listening with the headphones just plug in the HDMI-cable again and Beam or Arc will take over again. The fastest non-settings workaround for me. Just fine when you’re listening with headphones from time to time. Hope this will be of help to some of you.

It’s now 2022, I have the Arc 2 and the problem remains. I have to unplug the power source in order to be able to use my headphones. Why is this so hard for Samsung/Sonos to fix?

Are you sure unplugging the HDMI is not enough?

Menno02, We all know unplugging HDMI works, but in this day and age and after spending $5000 on a TV and $2000 on Sonos sound, it's pathetic these multi billion dollar companies do not work it out. As i have posted in the past. My TV works with Bose 700 soundbar. Same cable, same TV, same earbuds but I swapped Sonos ARC for Bose 700......
Bose 700 works Sonos Arc FAILS . Why SONOS?

I agree, it’s pretty ridiculous.

sooo 2 years later they havent got the fix yet... thanks to floods ive had to relocate my setup meaning i now have no reciever set up (with the reciever never had this issue) but now Im using all the connections on the tv not via the reciever its doing same thing keeps defaulting back to arc for sound, weird thing for me is ... ONLY for my xbox series X , ps5 nintendo switch and fire TV seem to keep their settings (except the channel names i have to keep saving for some ridiculous reason) ,.. so a little weird its only doing it to one of the 4 inputs... but I agree how has this not been fixed ..

Just wanted to keep this moving. My new QN90a Samsung was sold to me on the basis that I could use my wifi headphones with it. I have the same problem where the Sonos Beam hacks the connection from my Bluetooth headphones.
