I posted this in the Scandinavian Samsung forum a few weeks ago (September 2025), but did not get any reply. So I am giving it a shot here. This problem started in August/September 2025 - and I stalled a little as I wanted to see if a new update of the YouTube app might solve the problem, but it hasn't - which is why I am posting it to try to find out what the problem is. So here is my full post, with an edit (added today).
-----
A newly uploaded YouTube video in (max) 1080p60Hz. will play for a few minutes, then the screen goes black with a buffer, then plays and then just stops permanently with the picture freeze, and it will keep buffering and never continue. I have trie to forward a bit into the video from that spot - it will then play for a few seconds and then it goes back to the a specific time where it first stopped in the first place - and just buffer endlessly with the picture freezed (from the moment it stopped) and the circled buffer thing just keeps going... It seems to happen at a specific running time (after around 01:52.00 plus/minus a minute). As mentioned the video has only been uploaded with a (maxed at) 1080p60Hz resolution - and it was uploaded recently on the 8th. October 2025. This is only through the YouTube app on my Samsung TV. The strange thing is that this does not happens when I am using the internet browser on the TV as the video works perfectly there - so once again: The is a YouTube app on my Samsung TV problem.
While writing this post (before posting) it has been a few days now and it has not been fixed even though the YouTube app has a new is a new version updated on my TV. What is even stranger is that I am able to watch many of this channel's older videos and the latest - which was uploaded today (and has higher max 1440p60Hz), - and his older (maxed) 1440p60hz video from 26th. September 2025 that I am rewatching now works totally fine.... On top of that: I am watching a 1080p60Hz video on another YouTube channel right now without any issues)...
This makes me conclude it is only this particular (maxed) 1080p60Hz video that has this particular play issue on my 8K Samsung TV.
I have a 150Mbps/10Mbps Internet which works perfectly when I run a internet speed test - this is the first thing I check every time a problem occurs.... The video in question works perfect on my MacBook Pro....
Problem in YouTube TV app version: web_20251009_01_RC00 og web_20251007_08_RC00 - og (i kveld) web_20251022_14_RC00
Samsung firmware version: T-KTM2DEUC-1341.2 , BT - S on my 8K Q900RA (2018) Samsung TV.
Here is a link to the particular (1080P60HZ) video I am having problems with.

On the same channel todays the latest 1440p60Hz video upload works flawlessly - while the 1080p60Hz one above doesn't work:

Maybe it is the TV model's own HVEC (H.265) codex or network card that are causing the problems that YouTube have started using or a similar problem my 2018 8K TV and older have had back in 2020 when the YouTube app had a permanent problem over several months after Samsung did a firmware update which caused the YouTube app to not work.
By the way, when reaching out to YouTube, they say the problem is Samsung - even though they are responsible for their own app to work on all platforms. I have a Premium YouTube account. With the mentioned problem in 2020, it ended up with Samsung having to fix their own firmware updated version which had caused a problem for the YouTube app in the first place. I have also reached out to the owner of the particular YouTube channel that has this problem, but he has not replied yet...
I like to also mention that videos on the particular official Conan O'Brian YouTube channel has some sort of a pixelated problem, that has been a permanent "unfixable" problem on my TV - both through the YouTube app and also when watching it in the TV's own internet browser. This has not be possible to watch on my Samsung TV - but it works flawlessly on my MacBook in the same internet network. Even when switching to cable internet directly into my TV - it is still a problem, and it has now been many years with the same problem that has never fixed - and I have seen I was the 2nd. who mentioned it in this Samsung forum (with the same TV model). Here is what this problem looks like when I filmed the screen to show what this permanently pixelated issue is on my TV:

EDIT (a few days or a week later): Today have the same problem with another channel that has uploaded a 1080p60Hz. video which does not work - as it completely stops around 3 minutes and will not continue to play on my "8K" Samsung TV - while others up to 4K60Hz will play without problems.

I did get in touch with the owner of the channel Nezar, and he told me: "I’ve been using h265 recently because my computer crashes when I use h264 it might be because of that. I’m gonna upgrade my pc and try to go back to using h264 it should help" - so I am suspecting it might be a codex problem even though my TV should be able to handle both H264 and H265...
Today, 7th. October 2025 I posted this:
Still a problem. This time it is this 1080p.60Hz. video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4o7sj7XK6Tg
It will play normal to 11:22 and then it keeps stopping, black screen and then buffering..... I try to change to 720p.60Hz., but it will not - even when I try to change to 480p. But when I restart - it plays at 480p.
Internet - through cable connection. Download speed: 155.98 Mbps - Upload speed: 10.28 Mbps. I even have a YouTube Premium subscription. Other videos in 4K and 1080pPremium speed works fine without stopping - even 1440p60Hz. on this channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxuk5SLILi works fine...

This video seems to have the same problem, but in 4K60Hz. Something about the buffer.... So keeps going down to 1440p60Hz. - internet speed: 155.25 Mbps download, and 10.38 Mbps upload.

Top YouTuber SNEAKO's latest video - uploaded in max 1080p (not 60Hz like the others) is having problems playing at 1080p on my 8K Samsung TV. Keeps buffering with and without a still picture at the 04:38 mark. Plays perfect on my MacBook on my WiFI (while my Samsung TV is connected to my internet through cable). Will first play a few minutes into the video, then stop. If I go back a few seconds it will play for just a moment and then stop - tried to play from the start and will not play. Need to go back to the menu and then it will play with great buffer at first. then again it stops at the same spot at the 04:38, and I see the "buffer" goes down, stops completely, then the buffer goes up again - and this time it plays till the end...
Took a Internet speed test which showed: Download 152 Mbps and Upload 10.25 Mbps.

I have the same issue on my Samsung TV. It happens more often when watching small channel's content (Might they be getting lower bandwidth somehow?). On my Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen) everything plays without issue. On a side note, I've also noticed my Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen) YouTube app offers a higher resolution option on the same video (On the Samsung TV it's 1080p max and on TV cube it's 1440p, same video). FYI, both are LAN connected and my internet speed is 1Gbps down and up. Not an answer, just sharing the pain! Lol.

What model (with year) and how long have you had it ?
You are getting the same issues when using the YouTube app installed on your Samsung, but when having connected a media player the problem is gone ? (I assume Fire TV Cube is the same as Apple TV and Chrome Cast ?). What I am curious about is if this is a codex problem - H.264, HEVC (H.265), and AV1 - and/or the network card. Even the HDMI port might be an issue - which mine should have at least one HDMI 2.1 (but I suspect they never upgraded it).
Thank you for sharing ! I appreciate it !

Samsung QE65Q67RATXXU (2019 model). I just checked, and they are running slightly different YouTube app versions. Have you tried "Stats for nerds" in the YouTube app, first enable it in the app's general settings, then play a video and tap the settings gear icon, and finally select "Stats for nerds" from the menu that appears? I haven't gone that deep yet, Lol.

The YouTube app version changes automatically as they update and possible fixes bugs quite frequently. My current YouTube version today (27th. November 2025) is web_20251124_14_RC00
I have checked out the "Stats for Nerds " when running a video, but 100% not sure what exactly to look for. I have not tried to enabling it ?
Does your TV have the same disturbances in the picture when watching the Chuck Norris on the Conan O'Brian show - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SE2ZrK7A4TI - I assume it might work on your Fire TV Cube - but not when using the YouTube app on your TV ?
I have been stalling getting an Apple TV till they released the 8K function - as my TV is supposed to be Samsungs first 8K which was also supposed to get an HDMI 2.1 upgrade. But the HMDI 2.1 upgrade never happened (and which would still not make my TV 8K even if I got that upgrade) - and as you say: no answers. All the mess I have had with my TV and dealing with their customer support - which they advertise as "expert panel" - you do not even get to talk to a technician directly, but a non-tech guy who tries to understand your issues or problem - and then put you on a hold, and then have to explain to me "the solution". When my TV was doing really loud "buzzing sound" (which I assumed was the fan - which really has a smooth zuming sound) the customer service claimed it was because my TV was working "extra hard" - even though I had recorded a normal fan sound and the terrible buzzing fan sound - a few weeks or months later with that really hard sound the TV itself had enough and it said it was turning itself off and to contact Samsung.... This was months with hell... Only then Samsung sent a tech guy to switch the main board. But then never told me what was wrong (again "no answers"). Yet they advertise that Samsung will go far to help out - even when the warranty (and Lemon Law) has expired. Oh... and not only that... When my TV started to have issues with the YouTube app a few years ago, which happened exactly around the time they did a big firmware update - which made the YouTube app act up really bad with constant buffering - they claimed it was YouTube falt and would not listen, even though more and more people complained - and I got completely banned from the US Samsung forum (though the UK and the Scandinavian forum let me continue to report). After a few months - and this was while the worldwide lock down - they figured out it was their (Samsung's) firmware updated. Since I did not have a media player (Apple TV) I was stuck with constant buffering for months - which put me through really rough times having bought an 8K TV that would not and never will play 8K (and all "no answers")... Okay rant over... back to topic. Haha....
