Samsung Frame 2020 and Sonos Amp connected via HDMI ARC

When I change the sound output to built-in TV speakers in Samsung TV, it automatically changes back to HDMI ARC sound output in a few seconds.

Sometimes I want to use the TV with its built-in speakers, so I don't want it to always automatically and persistently switch to the HDMI ARC sound output.

How can I disable this automatic switching?

I don't understand why Samsung is taking so long to correct a problem that affects so many.  It should be relatively easy to reprogram the TV software to just maintain the current sound setting until user selects a different output. How hard could that be?

Found 3 years old post with same problem. Samsung can't fix the problem in 3 years. Awesome

I have the same issue with my Frame 2019 connected to Sonos Beam. Hoping a proper fix will eventually be created by Samsung and Sonos.

Hi All,

I can Confirm the Error is with my Sonos Arc BUT works perfect with Bose soundtouch 300. Both test on my Samsung Q80 75in

I used a friends Bose and it does not switch back to HDMI once I select tv speakers or Buds.

However, my Sonos Arc fails and does auto switch back to HDMI after 2 seconds when I select TV speaker or buds.

I have videos to prove this and now will call sonos back with my findings.

Extremely disappointing with a premium product that use to work 6 months ago before updates.

This would help with my issue also!

Samsung TV keeps switching away from the HDMI ARC if the system is quiet until the AMP go to sleep. If it would just leave the setting alone things would work fine.

Is there an option to turn off the auto switching?

Hi everyone.  I just got the Sonos Arc gifter and instantly installed it on my  Samsung TV with HDMI Arc.  Now always have to have it on with surround speakers and everything.  Really don't want to hear my kids Thunderman in Dolby!  Please, anyone, know if now there is a firmware update?

Same thing here.  Sonos sound bar and Sony headphones.  No matter what device I try to switch to, the TV just toggles back to Sonos ... so I literally cannot use my headphones.

The common device is Sonos. I tried a Bose soundbar and it's perfect. Plugged back in my sonos arc and problem came back.

It's time to chase this "premium" company and  product for answers.

When I call they say refer Samsung, but I explained it happens on LG and Sony too. LOL? Then they go quiet.

I’ve got the same issue with a Devialet made Sky soundbox. Try switching output from HDMI to TV speakers and it flips straight back
