Good afternoon.
ive recently purchased a Q90T. I came from a 2015 Samsung which had no frame rate issues at all.
The Q90T is great in every way apart from when watching Freesat or Now TV. Both of these broadcast in 50hz/50p. So I assume it’s something to do with this frame rate.
what happens is that when there is a small amount of motion on screen such as an interview or no panning etc then the screen shows something similar to the frame rate dropping in half and everything stuttering. Once motion picks up or shot pans around then it goes back to normal.
I had all picture clarity settings set to off but I then played around with settings such as judder reduction and blur reduction etc to see if I could eliminate the stutter but nothing works.
its really bad watching football on free sat or now tv as it’s stutters quite a lot.
weirdly, not all programmes stutter. I’ve watched some catch up tv on now tv as well as movies and these show perfectly without any stuttering and all content on Netflix etc are all fine as well.
I am on the latest firmware.
any ideas if this is common or if there is a fix as nothing I’ve tried works.
thank you

I agree it very hit or miss, my series 7 2018 model doesn’t have this problem on now tv or the fire stick, it’s just so frustrating as the older and cheaper models do not have this so they must have seriously changed the t series to get it this wrong!

Yes it’s very frustrating with the T series. Especially that the tv I came from which was also Samsung was only a £500 tv when it came out in 2015 and didn’t suffer with this issue.
the fact the game mode (without game motion plus) works and stutter vanishes completely means that somewhere in the software, something seems like it remains on and isn’t completely off which is causing the tv to process something and is creating this stutter.
game mode and game motion plus on for me still causes stutter but turning off GMP instantly removes it again.

If we can get a Samsung engineer visit and demonstrate the problem that these TVs have they might be able to fix it with a firmware update, the more people that speak up the more chance we can get a fix!

Exactly same issue here with Samsung QT95. Also came from an older model with no issues. This needs fixing

Same issue here. Absolute joke. Spend 1,000s on these TVs to have stutter issues. My older Samsung models have zero issues. Do something , Samsung.

I have the same issue with my new 65 Q80T and it is really annoying. I cannot enjoy watching tennis or football anymore. I called the Technical Service in Turkey they say they get similar complaints but they cannot do anything since it is related to broadcast. Samsung should know that every broadcast on the world is not HDR or 4k and they should adjust their technology to the current broadcast technology. Please focus on releasing an update to solve this serious issue.

Hi, this is a very annoying issue indeed. Have you checked the forums at AV forums? There’s a thread on there that has picked up some pace and would appear from some forum members that they have had email responses from Samsung stating this is being looked into now. Fingers crossed for a update to fix this problem soon.

Has anyone actually raised this with Samsung??
I’m watching the Leicester game on TV tonight (recently had a new BT box as I was thinking it could be the age of the box but still remains)
I also have the gurgly noise issue too
