Dear Community,
#S90D #OLED
I have a Samsung OLED S90D 65-inch TV from 2024, model from Germany. To enhance the audio experience, I have connected a Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar via HDMI-eARC. This setup was working fine for the last 3 months, but suddenly, since last Friday, I have been observing that the sound drops intermittently. The audio just goes mute. I tried powering on and off, but it did not resolve the issue. Then I disconnected and reconnected the HDMI cable, but it still didn't help. I factory reset my soundbar, but it still did not resolve the issue. Finally, I did a factory reset of both my soundbar and TV, but it still did not help. I tried changing the HDMI cable, and even this is not helping.
Just to check if it's a problem with the soundbar, I tested it with my other TV, an LG C1 (2021 model), and surprisingly, on the LG C1 it worked without any audio drops. I am still not sure what the issue is. I checked for firmware updates, and both my Samsung TV and Bose Soundbar are running on the latest firmware.
After researching on the internet, people are suggesting switching to an optical receiver, but this will degrade the overall experience of the whole setup. There is no Dolby Atmos without HDMI eARC, and I see no point in downgrading to an optical receiver after investing so much money in this setup, especially in 2025.
I am not sure what the problem is. Hence, I am trying here in the community to see if anyone has faced a similar issue and found a resolution so far.
Thanks in advance!

I also am experiencing this issue. S90D I purchase two tv’s and Samsung sound bars 48in and 55in tv hw-600c with added surround speakers. I contacted Samsung support they done a remote log in and changed a few things but hasn’t fixed the issue. A lot of money to spent and with from what I can see no answer. Samsung seemed to not know of the concern. I’ve tried every thing spend more on top quality hdmi etc. if I’m playing a stream app with Dolby Atmos every 10-20 minutes sound dips 1-2 secs surely they can fix this?
