I have a Samsung QN9OC. It did a software update yesterday and now the my apps icon has disappeared. There no longer appears to be any facility to search for apps in the app store. Anyone else having this issue or have a fix? As usual Samsung support on Twitter have been no help.

Yes, I already knew about those instructions.  They don't help.  Those instructions only work if the app isn't downloaded already.  If it is already downloaded, there is no way to add it to the home screen from the search page.  I contacted Samsung and got the real instructions now.

Here are the instructions Samsung sent me:

Good afternoon William,

I received instructions from our team members which you will find below. I hope the information helps. Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance.

1. Customer needs to go to APPS on the top

2. Once you are under the APPS section , then go all the way at the bottom in the Apps and select APPS settings.

3. In here customer will be able to ADD any installed apps to the HOME screen.

You hold down the button as you hover over the app. A popup menu appears and you choose add to homescreen. :smiling-face:

Bingo! Well done. I had accidentally removed a downloaded app from main menu after OS upgrade. Frustrating. Unintuitive, convoluted and elusive workaround - but effective!

My Apps icon disappeared from my home screen about two weeks ago (Feb. 2025), and still cannot find a fix for it online.  I now have to use Roku instead of the Samsung interface to update and add Apps.

Click on settings > all settings > general & privacy > start screen option > start with smart hub home (toggle off).  Now on the home screen you will see three tabs in the middle of the screen right below the advertisement picture. The last one says apps. Click on the apps tab and search for the app you want to install. Hold the button down when you click on the app and it offers you the option to add it to your home screen.

Have you tried the fix listed above? Click on settings > all settings > general & privacy > start screen option > start with smart hub home (toggle off).  Now on the home screen you will see three tabs in the middle of the screen right below the advertisement picture. The last one says apps. Click on the apps tab and search for the app you want to install. Hold the button down when you click on the app and it offers you the option to add it to your home screen.
