So I just updated to the new One UI 6.1 and I noticed my navigation bar went back to default. No big problem I'll change it. Only thing is that when I go to chnage it how I had it before that option is no longer there.

I used to have the navigation bar where you'd have to swipe up to mimic the default navigation. For example:

  • If I wanted to go back I'd swipe up from the bottom right.
  • If I wanted to exit I'd swipe up from thr middle
  • If I wanted to close all recent apps or view them I'd swipe up from the left side.
I like this because it kept the phone clean and there was no bar at the bottom like I'm forced to do now

Thank you so much, I really didn't like the new swipe gesture navigation style, the old was much better. Now have the one I want back thanks.

The people are doesnt like the changes... this new hidden navigation bar it works perfectly if you trying to understand this. So lets do this:

  • If you want to go back: swipe from left or right side of the screen to the middle of the screen
  • If you want to exit: swipe up from the bottom of the screen
  • If you want to close all recent apps: swipe and hold the screen from the bottom of the screen

Thats all 🤷‍😁

Thank You for hint!

It is really bad when Samsung trying be like iPhone. I will never buy an iPhone because of UI, navigation, etc. But now samsung trying to be similar, so it is no reason to stay with samsung. Bad decision, there is many users which buy Samsung, generally android, because it is different than iPhone. But when it will be more similar we can choose 2 brands, Samsung or Apple. Maybe they thought about Iphone users and tried "steal" them from Apple. But it may backfire.

"if it isn't broken, don't fix it"

It isn't as intuitive as the original, I even tried to give it a shot at first but it didn't seem to work consistently. It could be my fault, but I was doing the same thing (or close to it) with varying results.

I'm also just more accustomed to the original navigation, it feels natural and is perfect anyway.

I just received the update overnight and I despise it. I'm fumbling around with my phone at work like I don't know how to use it. Just why? Next phone will NOT be a Samsung.

The new hidden bar is way much slower. But the most annoying is that it's easy to accidently activate "go back" gesture when for example moving a map or any document that it's bigger than the screen.

Samsung needs to fix this. Why do I need to allow access to my photos and videos? Also now I have 3 little spaced lines at the bottom of my screen now. This sucks!

Back in Settings>Display>Navigation Bar you should now have the "more options" menu? Go there and switch off gesture hints.

Phones already come plenty bloated, so installing all this extra *****, the extra ***** needing permissions I'd rather it didn't have, and the fact it is completely unnecessary... bad Samsung.

Screw Apple for making this type of ***** the norm, screw Samsung for following.
