Hi,
I have a Galaxy A55 5G SM-556B/DS, which has been updated to the latest software version (One UI 7.0 / Android 15).
I am a plumber. I take lots of photos while working, and very often I need to search through my old photos.
In the past, the Samsung Gallery app's search function allowed me to search based on the road name where the photo was taken.
For instance, I took some photos at a property on Station Road. If I typed "Station Road" into the search bar, all photos taken on that road would be displayed.
However, this function does not work any more. I get no results when searching for road names. It seems like the search function is broken. I think this problem started when I updated to One UI 7.0 / Android 15, but I'm not 100% sure.
I have checked my photos, and they still have the address stored in their metadata, so I don't believe there's anything wrong with the photos.
This feature is incredibly helpful to me. If anyone can offer advice, that would be great, but I'm assuming there's an issue with the app and it needs to be fixed/patched. Does anyone know how to report bugs to Samsung?
Also, in the meantime, can anyone recommend an alternative gallery app that will allow me to search using a road name?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jon

Hi arianwen27,
Thank you for your reply.
It's strange. When I try to search using Google Photos, it tells me that I need to turn on cloud backup. At the moment, I don't have enough space on my google drive, so I can't turn cloud backup on. I don't really want to pay Google for extra storage space at the moment.
It's just frustrating. I like the Samsung Gallery app, and this feature used to work. It would be interesting to know if Samsung is already aware of the problem and is working on a fix.
Does anyone know if Samsung employees monitor this forum? If so, hopefully they will see this and pass the message along to the app team.
Thanks
Jon
