In the past, pictures from Samsung Gallery were backed up automatically in Goolge Photos. This was not a sync, but a backup. So:
- New pictures were uploaded to Google Photos (and that was it).
- If I deleted pictures from Samsung Gallery, they would still be there in Google Photos.
Recently I noticed that now the pictures are synced, meaning that when I delete a picture in Samsung Gallery, it's also removed from Google Photos. But this is NOT what I want! When I now remove a picture by mistake from Samsun Gallery, I do not have a backup anymore in Goolge Photos!
How can I change it again, that a delete on Samsung Gallery is no delete on Goolge Photos?
P.S. Not talking about the "free up space" option. I know this exists, but it's not what I'm looking for, since I do not want to "free up space". I just want to prevent that in case I remove a picture by mistake from Samsung Gallery, I also loose it in Google Photos.

@Tom_VDJ: If you capture a photo on your Galaxy device, then please connect to Wi-Fi or Mobile data, depending on your backup preferences in Google Photos, and allow time for the backup process to complete. I tried to recreate the issue, and found that I was able to delete a photo from my Gallery, but the backup in Google Photos remained intact.
If you delete a photo by mistake, then please tap the 3 lines in the bottom right of the Gallery > Recycle Bin > Press and hold on the image > Restore.

Thanks for the reply. Making the backup itself is not the problem. Pictures are backed up nicely. But I do not expect the pictures in Google Photos to disappear when I remove them from Samsung Gallery and that's what's happening right now...

Yeah, there I get the response: "Since it's Samsung Gallery that is using Google Photos to backup, maybe it's better to ask your question in the Samsung forum."
To be clear: this is about Google Photos, not Microsoft OneDrive.
