My Eco bubble blew the fuse and melted part of the plug and scorched the wall socket. I’ve tried to report this but the online trouble shooting options do not obviously list this as an issue. Yet I can see this has happened to a number of customers. Please could someone from a Samsung contact me to resolve this as I am now without a machine but thankfully the fuse did its job and prevented a fire.

Exactly the same thing has just happened to me, luckily the house fuse tripped and stopped it getting any worse but the the lead on the washing machine was very hot and the plug has melted where the fuse is, it's also scorched the socket. This is very worrying and could very easily developed into a fire. Given that the plug is a moulded unit and came fitted to the washing machine when it was purchased it makes me wonder if it's fit for purpose.

Samsung will not accept liability for a faulty plug. They will send out an engineer for free who will change the plug.
(Strangly almost companies would charge, especially if you are out of warranty which I was) The machines have attached a very cheap plug which is riveted and not screwed. Due to the fuse heating and cooling, the rivets become loose and shorts. Hence the melted plug. Contact the moderator who will arrange for Samsung to call and send you an engineer.

Thanks but it's not worth the effort, especially if Samsung won't accept responsibility for the cheap, and clearly faulty plugs they've fitted to the appliances.

Fitted a new plug and it's all fine now. As you say it had clearly been arcing for some time and getting worse until it got too hot and melted. Samsung really should be taking notice of this issue and replacing all the plugs affected before someone gets hurt in a fire.

I cant remember where I haveseen it and cannot find it again to post it but there was a image of even a white plug 13a 3 pin UK top (non moulded) with a scorched live pin and scorched the 13a socket too. - something clearly seems to be drawing too much power somehow . 13a @240v AC can handle up to 3120watts or something and the heater in the washing machine is 2000w i think , the wash motor is not too heavy on wattage so I dont know what it would be thats heavy enough to overheat and scorch the pin on a normal 13a plug and socket. The only thing is on european models they put a 16a Schuko plug without any fuses at all inside the plug
