Hi,
having a side-by-side fridge (RS68N8221B1/EF) I wonder how I can enter into the Diagnostic Mode and more particularly ´force defrost’ the fridge (RD)? I found many combinations online but none for the function button panel of my fridge (see photo attached). Thank you!

@Kurt_Be: It is possible to remotely operate your refrigerator, including 'Diagnosis' mode, which detects abnormal operations of the device. Please be advised, however, that this can only be done via the SmartThings app on a compatible mobile device, and a Smart Home Adapter would need to be connected to the fridge in order to utilise this feature. For more information, please refer to pages 54-55 of the user manual by following the link below.

To defrost the refrigerator, please unplug it at the mains, and make sure to lay plenty of towels at the base of the unit.

Hi Andrew,
thank you for your reply. In absence of the Smart Home Adapter, isn’t there a way to start a ‘defrost cycle’ manually from the fridge? In the manual you refer to, p72 refers to a ‘defrost cycle’ and ‘defrost heater’. Isn’t it possible to launch this manually as for other Samsung fridge models? Thx

@Kurt_Be: I have looked into this further for you, and have found that your appliance is frost free, which means there is no need to manually defrost it, as this will be carried out automatically.
