S24 has some great features, but very disappointing colors on display. Unfortunately Samsung is reporting it is intended to look this way. Not a hardware issue as some say, because S24 and S24+ do not have same screen but have same washed out display. Not sure if I will return it or keep my fingers crossed enough people complain and Samsung does software update. What is everyone doing? Returning or waiting out for update?

My S24 Ultra arrived on Sunday, and as you say with yours, comparing mine to the S23 Ultra I was looking to trade in, the S23 Ultra has a better picture and more saturated colours. The main issue appears to be with the vivid mode, which doesn't make any difference when you toggle between them. Given that I understand this has impacted the whole S24 line, then I also don't agree that this is due to the new antireflective coating on the s24 Ultra.
Unfortunately, Samsung has not acknowledged the issue formally, and there have been conflicting responses from the Samsung Chat line. I also raised an issue through the support line on Monday but haven't received a response as of yet.
There is a very god YouTube video where a man has looked at the colours on the s24 line up and states that's it's a software issue. This could probably be fixed quite quickly.
I am annoyed that all the early reviewers do not mention this issue, which is obvious to anyone.
If Samsung doesn't put out some sort of assurance, then I may need to return mine and keep my S23 Ultra, which, as it stands, looks fat better.

Mine is being returned and will be collected by the courier service tomorrow (DPD in the UK). The washed out colours I can just about live with but the awful grainy screen is why I'm returning the device.

I got my Galaxy S24 Ultra yesterday, Titanium Blue 1TB. After setting it, I found it to be excellent, my display looks very good. I have always used Normal Mode.
I will be keeping mine. I am very pleased with it, so far. I wrote my initial experience on this thread:
