I have tried several times to connect my Samsung Galaxy S24+ via a official Samsung USB cable to my Windows 11 Pro PC.. no go it keeps dropping my connection. I used my USB 2.0 port... haven't tried my USB 3.0 port yet.
its a slightly older cable from my Galaxy S10+ but that shouldn't matter.. should it?
I only have USB type A on my PC but the old cable is free from breaks or any sign of damage.. 😞
my motherboard is a ASUS PRIME x570-Pro BIOS v5003 so latest..
I will check for driver updates for it I guess...
So what gives?
Anyone else having this issue?

So, I had this issue with my S23 Ultra, and contacted Samsung support thru chat. He had me just hard power off the phone, and power back on. Seems to work fine now....Dan

Change Battery Protection from 100% charge to 80% charge using Settings>Battery Protection>Maximum

I tried for several hours, changed cables, checked drivers, everything I could find online. Finally I decided that maybe the charging circuit was interfering with the transfer so changed the Battery Protection to Maximum (max 80% charge) with the phone already fully charged to 100% - so the charging circuit did not activate and and that did the trick.
