Can someone explain to me why Snapdragon Powered S24 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU still doesn't support APTx Adaptive? Every single time my phone receives a new update, I keep checking if I can finally see it (I owned Bose QuietComfort Ultras for a couple of months they just received 1.6.7 update today no change whatsoever). The best I can do on my brand new flagship phone is AAC!! Why?? One of primary reasons why I upgraded from S22 Ultra with Exynos 2200 series for the latest Snapdragon CPU, hoping that I can finally use my BT5.3 QuietComfort Ultras without having to use my Creative BT-5 APTX-Adaptive dongle which seems to be the only way for me. I can't see a single reason why there is no support added for Snapdragon Variants if it's a software thing. Do you really want people rooting their few weeks old phones for this or trying to install it from dodgy websites? You can really fix it with a single update or Beta Labs functionality for people eager to try it Samsung!! I had the phone since day one, and it was by far the biggest dissapppointments of starting to use my new Ultra phone this year. This is a link to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SOC Product Specification: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/mobile/snapdragon/smartphones/snapdragon-8-series-mobile-platforms... can someone from Samsung Software team explain it to us customers? It's a listed Codec in Snapdragon product brief. I kept leaving messages on Your Facebook ADs in the UK multiple times asking. I even tried asking that at the Samsung Experience Store whilst awaiting the delivery of my brand new phone, and your employees clearly keep it a secret. I think that more Tech youtubers should start discussing this and spread the awareness.

I can imagine how nice Your Beyerdynamic got to sound with DAC plugged in with MQA via USB-C on Tidal. In fact, I have been using Tidal with Creative BT-WT5 on occasion with my S22 Ultra before and now with S24 Ultra awaiting native APTx Adaptive support on it. Tidal would detect it, and I would have an option to use APTx Adaptive through Tidal this way with the dongle on my phone, Galaxy Tab, Windows Laptop Personal / at work. I see what you mean. I never really had a chance to test proper expensive high-end wired headphones. I sort of been thinking about it for some time, tho. But having control over it and not having to use a dongle that wouldn't work with most cases and can stick out is from being an ideal solution. Considering that S24 Ultra has capabilities going for it, it's really finally up to someone to raise awareness about it some way.

***** I just bought the sennheiser mtw4 which support lossless listening, but you mean to tell me that my s24 ultra doesn't support it? I'm not a audiophile so I don't know all the terms but I thought it supported flac?

Unfortunately, not, like others have said before, and I can confirm it with Bose QC Ultra Headphones and QC Earbuds Ultra. Even though S24 Ultra has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SOC. It has a software limitation imposed on it by Samsung. It supports SBC, AAC, APTx (OpenSource older version APTxHD), LDAC, and SSC (Samsung's own proprietialy audio Codec that they have been pushing for their earbuds for years). The latest version of Qualcomm APTx Adaptive Codec r.2.2, which requires BT5.3 and Snapdragon Chip with official Snadragon Sound support is not available. S24 Ultra technically meets all requirements. However, them adding this support remains to be seen. That's why I thought that it's worth spreading awareness with others. I still hope that if people talk openly about it, they can add it with a software update like they done with advanced display settings. I know that they listen to the feedback they get! Your MTW4 would be limited to AAC. In order to get APTx (not APTx Adaptive is to have headphones compatible with Opensource APTx). However, there is FLAC support on Ultra, but APTx Adaptive remains unsupported by Samsung this year.

Oh ok, that makes much more sense now. Thank you for clarifying. Could you root your phone to get aptx adaptive, has that been done before? Also on an unrelated note, if I want to listen to lossless audio at all what do I need. I only have a laptop , a s24 and deezer hifi.

<span;>We should write a petition to Samsung. It didn't even occur to me that such an advanced phone doesn't have codecs and I specifically bought bowers&wilkins for it and  max what I've got is aptx not even HD. Samsung  doesn't want to pay for it but forgodsake chinese do it.

I was a bit over exaggerating, rooting a newly released Flagship smartphone to get it. I wouldn't recommend anyone trying to do it. It would void Knox on your phone and probably block your phone receiving over the air updates from Samsung. It is probably better to wait for Samsung to take some action and add the APTx Adaptive in OS update. For now, the best solution that you can use with pretty much any device that has USB-C is https://uk.creative.com/p/speakers/creative-bt-w5 I have been using it with my S22 Ultra before and I use it on my personal laptops. It's a temporary solution in a way, but all we want is for Samsung to catch up with APTx Adaptive.

It's likely that samsung is still using Broadcom chip for wifi and Bluetooth as they did on s22 series.  Therefore, regardless of the soc, your samsung phone will never support aptx adaptive nor will it support aptx lossless and snapdragon sound. I've gave up hope, and will not buy samsung again until they fix this pitfall.

I think Samsung should add aptx adaptive and aptx lossless to S24 series as more and more earbuds support them but we cannot enjoy hi-res music via Samsung phones
