I have 2.4, 5 and 6 GHZ wifi connections. I have a wireless extender with 2.4 and 5 GHZ.
I have a wifi controlled device needing 2.4 GHZ connection.
The Main router is in the same room as the wifi connected device but my phone will not connect to the 2.4 GHZ SSID.
The phone will connect to the wireless extender 2.4 GHZ SSID. I have 2 PCs that will connect to the main 2.4 GHZ SSID, just not the phone. This is not a new network. Everything was working fine last week.
The network device will not connect to the extender SSID probably because of distance.
Why did the main router 2.4 GHZ SSID stop connecting?

Reboot the router first. Check for any firmware updates.
The 2.4ghz band isn't suitable for heavy traffic, so ensure there aren't too many devices using that band. Log into the routers admin page and check which devices are connecting to which band. Ensure the wifi is split into separate bands, and there are no conflicts between any of your connected devices. Ideally, the phone should be using the 5ghz band.
Try resetting your wifi settings by going to settings >general management >reset wifi and Bluetooth settings.
Check your MAC Settings
Settings>Connections>Wi-Fi. Tap the cogwheel next to your router. Tap View more. Tap MAC address type. Change it to 'Phone MAC'.

Hi. I have multiple devices that connect to that SSID. I have a S20 that will connect. I have rebooted the router and the phone and still the S23 will not connect to that one SSID only. I have 3 2.4 Ghz, 3 5Ghz, and 1 6 Ghz on my main and extended routers. The only one it will not connect to is that one 2.4 Ghz SSID. The reason I need it is that I have automated devices that require that SSID to connect with. I need to add a device but cannot without that 2.4 Ghz SSID.

Has Samsung got a solution for this yet? I never had any issues until the recent updates. Like others, I too need to connect to a 2.4 GHz network to enable smart technology to connect to the network. The message displays the following text: '"Network Name" couldn't connect to network.
I have reset the router and used the base settings from the ISP—it will not connect. I have changed the security settings from WPA personal to include WPA2. I have separated the 2.4 and 5 GHz to independent streams... no change. I have also tried my partner's phone, and the S21 won't connect, and that too has had a recent update.

No response from Samsung. My issue changes from 2.4 Ghz to 5 Ghz not connecting. I have 2 separate routers. I can connect both bands on one but one band on the other. But it moves between the two bands on the other. My PC connects to both bands without an issue.

My main router is a TP-Link AXE5400, the SSIDs from this router are the issue. It is erratic on what bands will connect.
My Net Extender router is a Netgear Nighthawk, i have no issues connection wired or wireless to this router.
Both routers are my equipment no ISP.
