WiFi 7

I have just learned that Samsung purposely hasn't activated WiFi 7 on the S23U even though it has the hardware for it.

Is there any chance that they will turn it on in the future?

Ridiculous that it's there and they're just deciding not to enable it.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has the hardware (Qualcomm FastConnect 7800) to support Wi-Fi 7, Samsung has not enabled the feature via software.

No the s23 series doesn't even have wifi 7 supported...

To be clear, it does not have Wi-Fi 7 currently, and I doubt it will. It has Wi-Fi 6E, to my understanding. I doubt they will obtain the certificates for the S23. But, if it ever did, that information would come from Samsung—we won't know as customers.

It seems the hardware does support it yeah, it's just disabled. My guess is the tech was too new at the time of the s23 so it wasn't worth trying to enable it.

If they wanted to enable it now, they'd probably need to recertify the device and test the radio effects of it with WiFi 7 on. That'd be a ton of work for a 3 generation old device. You can hope but I doubt it'll happen

I have the s23ultra and it doesnt support wifi7 at all only the new ones support wifi 7 from s24 and the new s25 series

So it seems like samsung has disabled this feature for the s23 series so it is supported but the feature is disabled for life on that phone
