Since I received my samsung s23 (about four weeks ago) I cannot see any caller ID when I receive a call. It just shows as Private number whether it is someone from my contacts or not. My setting show caller ID as enabled and all my contacts have been synced to my SIM. An o2 assistant seemed to think it was a known issue with samsung but I can't see a fix any where?

Have you checked in with your chosen Mobile Network Customer Services @brew1664

Also as a troubleshooting step try your sim card in another phone and then see what happens.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hi @BandOfBrothers - yesterday o2 agent seemed to suggest it was a known samsung fault as she had the same problem with her s23. I'll try the sim swap suggestion though, thanks

Not sure if this is an issue or not with your phone.

However my Caller ID on my s²³ Ultra is working as it should.

@brew1664: Where do you currently have your contacts saved to e.g. Google/Samsung account, internal memory etc? If you head to the Contacts app > Tap the 3 lines in the top left > Manage contacts > Move contacts, and follow the on-screen instructions, does the change in location help?

You may also wish to head to the Phone app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Other call settings > Show caller information > On > Show contacts numbers in calls > On, to see if this helps.

Hi.

I have the same problem with my S23, I have reported this to Samsung as I have noticed that when the Mobile data upload/download icon on my main screen shows the letter 'E' or the number '6' the Caller ID does not work. When the icon shows '2G';'3G';'4G';'5G' the caller Id DOES work. This looks to be a major problem with the phone software. I have reported this to Samsung 2 weeks ago, but have had no reply from their experts.

Not surprised it doesn't work under E connection. With that speed pigeon is faster
