Hello! I'm running the One UI 7 update on an S23 FE.

So I noticed despite changing my home screen clock, the clock on the AOD wouldn't change from the previous style. Nothing I tried seemed to fix it. So I found the AOD system app and I cleared the cache and data in case that would reset it. And now I have no AOD at all! I can access the settings for the AOD fine and it is absolutely turned on as well.

I have tried clearing the app cache/data, applying a theme and switching back, making changes to the AOD and restarting my phone.

Can anyone help at all? Thank you!

It sounds like you're in a tough spot with your AOD after the One UI 7 update on your S23 FE. Clearing the AOD app's data often causes the AOD to disappear entirely. This typically happens because it resets the configuration files that tell the AOD to actually appear on your screen.
Here are some steps you can take to try and fix it, starting with the simplest solutions:
Basic AOD Toggles and Restarts
* Toggle AOD Off and On, Then Restart:
* Go to Settings > Lock screen and AOD.
* Completely turn the Always On Display toggle OFF.
* Restart your phone. This is a crucial step for system-level changes.
* After the restart, go back to Settings > Lock screen and AOD and turn the Always On Display toggle ON again.
* Try selecting different display modes (Tap to show, Show always, Show for new notifications) to see if any of them kickstart it.
* Change AOD Clock Style (Even if it's not showing):
* Since your initial problem was about the clock style, try forcing a change.
* Navigate to Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Always On Display > Clock style.
* Choose a completely different clock style than the one you were using.
* Apply the change and then restart your phone.
Deeper System Fixes
* Wipe Cache Partition:
* This clears temporary system files that can cause glitches without deleting any of your personal data.
* Turn off your phone completely.
* Connect your phone to a computer using a USB cable. This is usually required on newer Samsung phones to access recovery mode.
* Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button simultaneously.
* Keep holding them until you see the Samsung logo and the Android recovery screen appears.
* Use the Volume Down button to navigate to "Wipe cache partition."
* Press the Power button to select it.
* Use the Volume Down button to select "Yes" and confirm with the Power button.
* Once it's done, select "Reboot system now" with the Power button.
* After your phone reboots, check your AOD.
* Check for Further Software Updates:
* Even after a major update like One UI 7, small patch updates often follow to fix immediate bugs.
* Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to see if there are any pending updates.
What to Avoid Next
* Avoid clearing the AOD app's data again. As you've seen, this often makes the problem worse rather than better for system apps.
Hopefully, one of these steps helps get your AOD back in action!
