Hello Samsung forum,
After upgrade of my Samsung S23 ultra from Android 14 and UI 6.1~ to newest Android 15 and UI7.0 , my wired android auto stopped working on two different cars, where ma S23 worked before, and my other phone or iPhone still working fine.
Cars just dont see the S23, possibly via BT for Audio that is fine.
AA wireless is NOT affected, but its not on my main car, problem is in wired AA.
Classic troubleshooting steps like were done:
- clear cache/storage of AA, Google, Google Play, Google services
- manual check for update of Play Store and security patch
- turn off/on/max for AutoBlocker
- on/off Block USB connections while locked
- on/off unknown sources in Android Auto
- safe mode did not helped
- Samsung US not helped ( referring to EU Samsung )
- Samsung EU not helped ( referring to that Lexus is the problem )
- Lexus EU not helped ( no new update )
- reset all google settings , storage, caches
- tried force install 14.4 of AA - no help => rollback to my "stock" 14.3
- different cables in different cars
- set in android auto - start AA always
Error message: no error message, phone do NOT connect to two different cars where it worked before
Were you able to connect to Android Auto prior to the issue? yes - two different cars, worked fine , after update to 15 and UI7 on Samsung - stopped working
Car / head unit make & model: Lexus UX 2024 ( with Lexus 07/2024 update, no newer update ) and China android radio - situation is same.
Phone make & model: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Android OS version: 15 , One UI Version 7.0 , Security update - May 1 2025, Google Play system update - April 1 2025
Android Auto app version: 14.4 and/or 14.3
Google Play services version: 25.19.33

Also same issue with me... S23 Ultra after update to OneUI 7
Sunday
S23 user here. Same issue, reflashing back the latest UI 6.1 didn't solve the issue. The I upgraded again to 7.0 and the issues is still here. At least the battery drain was fixed. When updating to UI 7.0 the bootloader is upgraded too and you can't go back to the previous one. And according to ChatGPT the bootloader is in charge of USB connections on deep level. We will need a fix from Samsung so make some noise.

Same issue with my s23 ultra. S10 on Android 14 works fine. Users of the pixel phones have been reporting this issue since January after update to Android 15. What I would like to know is why Android is taking their sweet time to resolve. Android auto is a very important app. This is making seriously consider moving to IPHONE. 20+ years being an Android user and for Android to not listen and offer a fix after months of reported issues is pathetic. So Samsung and android need to smarten up or else they will lose alot of users.

I have the same problem with S23U, Samsung do not provide any proper feedback, in store they told me similar, car has to be updated.. yeah so all car manufactures are stupid and only Samsung who caused this is not to blame according to them.
Monday
Pathetic. After 20 years of using samsung/android time to make the switch to IPhone.

My S23U the same. After updating to Samsung One UI 7 (Android 15), it no longer can use for Android Auto on my Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid.

thats very good suggestion to play/mess with dual apps, unfortunately it looks like my S23U have only "Dual Messanger" , like FCB messagner or whatsapp, but i cannot add android auto. in my apps list (like on your screenshot) there is not another android auto.
- how to achieve to add android auto to dual apps? ( and maybe play with disable primary vs. copy )
- or its not dual app but more like under "work profile" or "secure folder app" ?
Thank you for any feedback.
