My front facing camera stopped working out of the blue. I searched the web and found the official samsung website and someone had already posted the problem so I did everything Glenntech wrote to fix it including a factory reset and clearing the cache. My front facing camera still does not work. I took my phone to my provider they said call Samsung, I did. I told Samsung about the problem and told them that I am not the only one to have this problem. The tech INSISTED this is not a "known problem" despite the existence of the posts on the official Samsung forum and dozens of other posts on several other forums on the net. After several frustrating minutes with the tech denying the existance of a broad problem he informed me my phone is a year out of warranty and there is nothing he can do.

The exact response I would have expected from Samsung.

Hi @Heckercm
I'm disheartened to hear of the issues your currently experiencing with your phone 😔
In the UK Samsung provides a Limited 2 Year Manufacturer's Warranty albeit this does not cover accidental damage.
Samsung offers Samsung Care+ at an additional option and charge.
Personally I have my phone's covered under my Home Contents Insurance, and some bank accounts provide cover as a perk of the account.
I totally understand that some may not think about how long the phone's are covered for, until it becomes apparent when needing suppprt down the line.
Usually Networks offer insurance options at the time of taking out / renewing a contract so the consumer then makes an informed decision to accept or not.
Samsung would potentially charge a fee for out of warranty repairs, or if the phone is accidentally damaged.
In the UK there is also the Consumer Rights Act 2015 ,that is in place to support both the consumer and merchant.
As @Piper123 has stated this is predominantly a user to user discussion forum where members help and advise and indeed discuss products.

However you decide to proceed I wish you all the best.
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
