My S22 did the UI 7 update 4 days ago and it now restarts and freezes constantly.  It was working perfectly before update.

I have done the cache partition clearing that people suggest. Its made no difference.

The phone goes into a restart loop. I often can't use the phone or camera,  it freezes and then restarts. Its very very laggy.

I've seen suggestions that the update has adversely affected the hardware. Is that true or can I just wait for patches or new update?

It's bad form if samsung aren't offering to fix these issues.  I'll be considering Pixel next having been samsung the whole way.

If this happens in safe mode, than yes, you need wait for fix. If your phone doesn't have issues in safe mode, then some third-party app is your culprit.

So, your next step would be run phone in safe mode.

Last option is factory reset,  but before that backup your data

Hi @Linpin1

Welcome to the community forum.

I am sorry you are having this issue. I do understand that I being sorry does not help, but we are Samsung's customers like you are. Our help is limited to our knowledge of the device.

There have been several reports of people having issues after upgrading. However, it is not across the board, which is very disconcerting. I think that the only thing that might help it is a full reset. If you have a backup of the phone, try that. If not, then try to backup the phone if it allows it. If that fails then sending to Samsung's repair is the only option.

To boot the phone on Safe mode as suggested by @Sonora is a good shout.

Swipe down, the right top corner of the phone, tap the power button, tap and hold Power off until Safe mode shows, Tap Safe mode, to reboot on safe mode.

It might be worth taking the phone to a samsung repair centre and tell them what happened. If it's not under guarantee they may charge but may not if it's an update issue, we'll worth giving it a try. They can probably do an external re install or roll back of the software to get it going again. It could be a bad install of the firmware or something in your phone that's causing the problem. You can find repair centres here Samsung Screen Repair Location Directory https://samsungrepair.com/near-me
Hope this helps
