I updated my phone the day before and now no signal, says either emergency calls only/not registered to network. I've tried everything except a factory reset which I don't want to do as I don't want to lose anything. I know I can back up but will everything including albums go back to how they were once restored?

My phones just over a year old, well annoyed, I used to be with iPhone and this makes me wish I never made the switch.

Thats exactly what happened to mine. They gave me a replacement device. Its almost like the antenna went out or something. My phone had no damage either.  Get with your service provider to see if they will replace it or upgrade if possible. Other than this issue i have had no other problems with the phone and may still upgrade to the new one.

I just started having this issue in Jan. 2024 after the update.  I have tried every suggestion, and nothing is working.  It drops connection at odd times and there is no pattern.  Sometimes it is just fine.  What is the absolute fix?  I am still paying for this phone and am super frustrated!  It is my home and work phone, and it NEEDS to be in good working order. Help!!

Exactly the same on my side... have you tried the factory reset also? I was thinking to do that at last...

That is the last thing I want to do, but I feel like I have no choice at this point.   Wish me luck.

OK so here is my solution to the network issue. I previously tried everything, from system reboots, airplane mode, network reconfigurations, factory resets, new SIM card, helpdesks, YouTube vids, and much more. Total frustration. Finally, 2 days ago, I stopped by a little one-person phone repair shop to buy a charging cable and mentioned my problem to the guy. He said he'd have a look at it and to come back in two hours. Sure enough, he found the problem... it was a faulty Antenna Flex cable. This flat cable links the main-board to a sub-board inside the phone and is a vital part of antenna functionally. The clip at one end was not connecting correctly to the sub-board. He ordered a new part and the next day he clipped it into place. All up charge including labor and tax was £60.00. This flex-cable doesn't need tools to fit it (apart from opening the back of the phone of course), it is literally a finger tip press to clip it in. Blow me down - the phone now works perfectly and has a strong signal. 20240216_092023.jpg
