My phone starts fine and then operates normally, but after a few minutes use the screen becomes unresponsive to touch/swipe etc. Only solution is to keep forcing a restart so I can use for a short while.
I've tried starting in Safe mode and the have the same issue.
The screen must be ok as it works for a while, but why does it suddenly become unresponsive?
Any help appreciated

I had this issue persistently. No resetting or software update resolved it. I needed my A72 as i liked it. So took it to a good service center. Even before I finished the story the repair shop head said you need to change the ribbon. Its a common problem in A 72.
In two hours time I had the phone back and working. Part number -SM-A72F Main CTC. The ribbon that links the machine with the touch screen I guess.
Guys don't throw the good phone. Take it to the right place and replace the ribbon.
