Galaxy A56 Stuck on Spinning Dots After Update

Hello everyone,

I recently tried to update my Samsung Galaxy A56 to the latest Android version, but after the update, my phone is stuck on the spinning dots screen and won’t boot properly. I’ve tried restarting multiple times and even wiped the cache partition via recovery mode, but the issue persists.

My phone is basically unresponsive, and I cannot access any settings, including turning off Airplane Mode. I’ve read about Samsung Smart Switch’s Emergency Software Recovery feature, but I’m worried about losing my data because the recovery tool sometimes mentions factory reset.

Has anyone experienced this issue or successfully performed the emergency recovery without data loss? Are there any other troubleshooting steps I can try before resorting to a full factory reset?

I’d appreciate any guidance, tips, or walkthroughs you can provide.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,

If your Samsung Galaxy A56 is stuck on the spinning dots (boot loop), you should first try a soft reset by pressing and holding the Power and Volume Down buttons for 7-10 seconds until the device restarts. If that doesn't work, try charging the device, checking for software updates, or booting into Safe Mode. If the issue persists, a factory reset may be necessary, but back up your data first.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

1. Soft Reset:

Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for 7-10 seconds.

The device should restart, and you may feel a vibration when it does.

2. Charging and Battery:

Ensure the phone is properly charged. A low battery might cause issues with booting.

If the phone won't turn on even when plugged in, consider leaving it charging for a while.

3. Software Updates:

Check for available software updates in the phone's settings. An outdated or corrupted software can cause boot loop issues.

4. Safe Mode:

Boot into Safe Mode to see if the issue is caused by a third-party app. Safe Mode disables most apps.

To enter Safe Mode, hold the power button, then tap and hold "Restart" until the Safe Mode icon appears, then tap "Safe Mode".

5. Factory Reset:

If all else fails, a factory reset may be needed. Remember to back up your data first as this will erase all data on the phone.

To perform a factory reset:

Turn off the phone.

Press and hold the Power, Volume Up, and Home buttons simultaneously until the recovery screen appears.

Use the Volume buttons to navigate to "Reset" and then "Factory data reset".

6. Other Considerations:

Check your charging accessories: Ensure you're using a compatible charger and cable.

Clear cache and check storage: Free up space and clear the cache on your phone.

Contact Samsung Support: If you've tried all the above steps and are still having issues, contact Samsung Support for further assistance

Hi, I had the same problem. I have found somewhere information to power off the phone, get out the SIM card and restart without it. It worked for me. After restarting everything worked fine and then I just powered off the phone again and inserted back the SIM card and it worked fine. Hope this helps.
