Galaxy Book2 Pro (non 360 version) - add another NVMe SSD? Is there a slot? Is it easy?!

Hi all,

I've got the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro (not the 360 version - whenever I search online or on Youtube etc all I ever get is information about the Book2 Pro 360) and when I bought it the guy in the store said there is a way to add another NVMe SSD drive, but I can't find any internal images or videos online of this procedure to know if it's true.

The laptop I've got has the default 512GB SSD and whilst this is enough, I would like to add another in another slot if it is doable, because then I can transfer everything across from my old laptop without worrying about running out of space. Also if there is indeed another NVMe port, what type of NVMe drive would I need to buy and is it easy to open the bottom of the laptop? It's not like the old days where there used to be a compartment to unscrew, it looks like the whole underside of the laptop would need to be removed.

Any advice would be great 👍🏻

@alex_ncfc: If you have the Galaxy Book2 Pro (15.6inch, i7, 16GB) model, then this features 2 SSD slots, with the first being occupied by the 512GB NVMe SSD. For further information, please refer to 'Specs' section of the product page via the link below.

Thank you Andrew, yes it is the 15.6 inch i7 model, the silver/white one. Thanks for sending me that link which confirms there are 2 slots. Is there any documentation about which type of NVMe it needs, and also how to go about opening the laptop to fit one?

Many thanks

@alex_ncfc: No problem. Having looked into this further for you, I was surprised not to find any guides in the user manual surrounding the installation of a second SSD, and which ones are supported. I have gone ahead and passed this on to our Product Support Specialists, and will update you as soon I hear back from them.

Hi Andrew,

Hope you're well. Did you ever find out anything from Product Support about the method for installing the second SSD?

Many thanks

The relevance between the two statements lies in the practicality and technical considerations discussed in both contexts. The first statement addresses the desire to expand storage capacity in a laptop by adding an additional SSD, ensuring sufficient space for data transfer from an old device. The second statement pertains to the Gulf Expats Guide, which offers guidance and information to individuals relocating to Gulf countries. This guide may also cover practical aspects such as technology-related inquiries, including laptop maintenance or hardware upgrades. Both statements demonstrate a practical mindset towards addressing technical concerns and seeking relevant information to enhance personal computing experiences in the context of relocating or living abroad.

Any updates on this from Samsung please? @AndrewL ?

I can't believe a company the size of Samsung does not provide documentation on how and what type of SSD is needed to upgrade the laptop's storage.

Still nothing...

So no one at Samsung on here knows the answer to my question.

And your sales reps in your Samsung stores don't have a clue about the answer to my question either.

Useless. Remind me not to get a Samsung laptop again.
