Yesterday we noticed that our soundbar downstairs was power cycling and would not stop and when I came upstairs the one up there was doing the same thing.  I managed to rest them and they are working but now my 360 R7 speakers are doing it too and I can't get them to reset.  Anyone know what to do?  All the speakers were Samsung.  Does anyone know if they did some sort of update yesterday?

I also use an Edgrouter, and I managed to resolve it for myself. If you use your Edgerouter as the DNS for your network just like me, then it is quite easy: You have to set it to resolve api.iheart.com and api2.iheart.com to 127.0.0.1, and tadaaaa!

in configure mode:

set system static-host-mapping api.iheart.com
set system static-host-mapping api.iheart.com alias api2.iheart.com
set system static-host-mapping api.iheart.com inet 127.0.0.1

Same issue here too.  No speakers connect, they just recycle.  Sadly we use BT home mini wifi disks and they have no ability to block the internet from individual devices.    This looks to be a huge problem affecting almost every user of samsung multiroom speakers

UPDATE - managed to block on the main router at MAC address - can now see speakers in the app but they wont group or make surround sound connections.

Any ideas?

Guyee: EdgeRouter. I was able to use the Configuration ConfigTree to make the changes. And it worked fine. I only added the iHeart domains as you noted (not Deezer), and it worked. Thanks! So before, api.iheart.com redirected to www.iheart.com. But now both of the addresses are "connection refused".

I blocked the Deezer address as a test and it cratered the whole MultiRoom app. I removed it and the app is functioning.

Having the exact  same problem! HW-K960 ATMOS soundbar system, 2x R5 and one R1. This setup costs a fortune, Samsung must find a problem to this ASAP

Also having the same problem, all R5 speakers started rebooting and saying WiFi is ready, have tried all options posted and nothing has fixed the issue.

Samsung please provide a fix ASAP - these speakers are not cheap.

Hi all,

Just to update you all from the Samsung side of things:

"Since Saturday July 8th we are aware of an issue affecting Samsung Wireless Audio Multiroom (WAM) enabled devices which include the following Models

Soundbars

HW-H750 HW-J650 HW-J6500 HW-J7500 HW-J8500 HW-K650 HW-K850 HW-K950 (Including colour variants e.g. HW-J6501)

Room Speakers

WAM-270 WAM-350 WAM-550 WAM-750 WAM-1500 WAM-3500 WAM-5500 WAM-6500 WAM-7500 (Including colour variants e.g WAM-1501)

Samsung has not released any updates to these products & the root cause is believed to be with an update to a third party server.

While we continue investigations with our third party providers, it is possible to mitigate the issue by disconnecting the product from the internet.

This is a temporary measure but will allow the product to be used with all other available input e.g HDMI-ARC or Bluetooth

To disconnect the device from the internet please follow these simple steps

• Disconnect the device from the mains power.

• Reconnect the Mains Power

• Immediately after connecting the Mains Power Press & Hold the Volume Minus & Volume Plus keys on the device (Not the Remote control)

• After approximately 6 seconds the device will begin it’s reset cycle.

• When prompted by the unit to run the Set Up Process do not connect to the internet/WiFi.

Once the resolution is found it will be possible to connect the device back to the internet for Network enabled sources & features."

Blocking / disconnecting the speakers from internet works, but the problem was not fixed by blocking the three addresses you listed, at least for me (Netgear R8000P router). For now I'll keep my HW-K960 offline, so that I at least can use it for my TV..

Update for me... 11/7/23

I continued to play with this issue this morning and after reading the rest of the posts I tried adding the following to my URL filter and denied them access to the web.

api.iheart.com
api2.iheart.com

Everything is back working as it should be. For info I run an ASUS RT-AC86U.

I can powercycle the router and the speakers and it all just connects back up as it should.

Some of them still won't connect at 2.4Ghz as they did before but I can live with this!

All speakers work as they were Pre-7th July. (Speakers - R1s, R3s, M3s and Soundbar)
