Has anyone noticed something like coil whine when the screen is off since the last update (L705FXXU1AXG2) on their ultras?  Never had this issue before the update. However, now i can hear it all the time, which is pretty annoying especially when going to sleep.

Haven't contacted support yet, but i will.  I know it's been reported on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyWatch/comments/1ekz8fb/galaxy_watch_ultra_coil_whine/

I've attached a sound recording i took.  You'll need to turn the volume up though, but you can hear the noise

update: I had to change the link to a share on Google Drive, as the insert video link didn't work with the player on the page.  Hopefully this does now.

I don't hear anything from my Watch.
Wonder if there's a particular setting or something that's causing the issue.
Do you have you Watch setup with cell service or use it with just Bluetooth?
I haven't got the esim setup on mine. Just use Bluetooth with it.

No particular settings set, and just on bluetooth.

The issue is when the screen is off you hear the sound.  As soon as you turn the screen on, either through wrist movement, tapping the screen or pressing a button, does the sound stop.  Which would point to a power related issue, which makes more sense when the sound sounds like coil whine.  Coil whine being the result of electronic components vibrating at specific frequencies when current flows through certain components.  So with the screen being off, less power is flowing which could produce this sound.  As the power increases when the screen is on, it either stops, or it hits a frequency i can't hear.  Totally possible as we lose the higher frequencies as we get older, lol.

As this wasn't present before the update i mentioned, i believe it to be related to the battery related changes made within that update.  But that's just me reading the update notes and making a educated guess as to what the cause is.

I misread your title...I remember seeing a post about someone hearing a 'coil whine' noise from a phone not the watch

i have the same.

I had this before the latest update (battery drain fix) L705FXXU1AXG2

When the screen is on, the sound is gone. but kicks in when it turns off. Its still there when you take it off your wrist.

Also when its charging, the coil whine stops.

i hoped that the latest update may fix this, something it didnt.

just quite anyoing when you lay on your side with the hand/wrist tucked under your head

Mine has the exact same behavior screen off coil whine starts, screen on it stops.

I can't tell if it happened to mine after the update because i directly updated my watch after unboxing it.

I hope Samsung fixes it or has a simple explanation to this or solution.
