Hi
Lovely People

Title is bit of click bait but thought I'd address it from a personal perspective given that I have got a chance to trial it.

So I got the brand new watch ultra 7 and the installation was a breeze given I have had the Galaxy Watch 6 and just started from Backup off the old Watch.

The Skin burn isssue

Background Story : When I first got my watch 6 ( Free with my S25 ultra) I had a rash and skin burn that I had to stop using it for a week or two to get the skin healed and from then onwards I started wearing my watch loose so as I could poke a finger through in between the watch and the strap and never ever had any issues.

Fast forward to present : I put my spanking new watch 7 ultra and go to sleep and next morning I see a slight burn on the skin again.
So I presume the watch is too tight and loosen it one stop. And so far no issues.

Lessons Learned: So here I my conclusions and maybe tips for you guys

1. Don't Wear the watches too tight if get burns loosen the strap one stop
2. If you do get a burn, stop using the watch and let your skin heal. Follow step 1.
3. Don't use the watch continuously. Take it off now and then and let your skin breathe.
4. Don't use the watch straight off the charger as it will still be warm and burn your skin so leave a gap of 5 to 15 mins before you slap it ON your wrist.

Conclusion:  I feel Samsung should look into if there is anything chemical during the packaging that might affect and have these rashes and burn ins on first use as that was my experience with both the watches I had ( they were brand new )
Also there is a possibility some people have sensitive skin and sweaty hands etc.

Thoughts and experiences are welcome if you wanna share yours.

Happy Days 😊

This is my take on this.

In my experience and visits to the dermatologist, it's less a burn and more a rash caused by bacteria from the daily wear of the watch.

I used to have a circle of skin irritation, and a little from the band; it may have even looked like a burn. It turned out to be from bacteria, sweat, and debris trapped under the watch/strap.

My girlfriend, who wears an Apple Watch, had the same issue—and since following the guidelines of:
* keeping straps and watch clean
* cleaning after gym sessions
* fully drying before wearing

neither of us has experienced it since.

*my old boss had a Galaxy watch too and experience the same- and since I shared my experience he also has results of it going away

*This is my own experience, so it can vary. It's always best to contact Samsung directly/ a healthcare professional.

My thoughts. It won't be a heat burn, these watches can't physically get that hot unless it's seriously damaged.

It'll be skin irritation and issues from the new thing. Since the bottom of these devices is plastic or glass, it doesn't allow sweat. So right under your watch can't breathe and skin doesn't like that.

Eventually you get used to it and it goes away.

At least for me, I'd take a few day long breaks to let my skin recover, then wear my device again. Over some time I now have no issues.

This all stated with a fit bit, after getting used to that, watches were fine.

How tight they are also matters. You need it tight to measure but not too much to cut circulation.

That's excellent advice. Maintaining the cleanliness of your devices should be a top priority.

I understand that everyone's experience will vary. Mine has been positive in the long term, with the exception of when new.

I would greatly appreciate hearing others' perspectives.
