As many people have commented samsung have also palmed me off with because my TV is just over 4 years old and now out of warranty they are not going to do anything apart from supply me with a local repair centres number. I have called this and the repair will cost me between £400 and £500.
Absolutely outrageous how a company can supply such goods that are clearly a public liability and threat to peoples health and well being. The TV cost over £670 when I bought it and its lasted 4 years and 4 months. Terrible, I would have expected more from a company that I thought was respectable.

Hi

I have had one of your colleagues at Samsung call me today saying that because the TV is out of waranty they are not prepared to do anything other than give me a number of a local engineer company to call. I have called them and they are basically saying its a screen issue and would probably cost me a £45 call out fee and around £300-£400 to repair.

As this is a safety issue and a product public liability I would expect more from Samsung especially when the TV is just over 4 years old and cost me over £600 to buy.

For the cost of this repair I could buy a new TV.

I'm not very happy seems this TV can easily catch fire to itself and possibly put my families life at risk. Could you advise a solution of going forward before I take this further.

Regards

Hi barosanurexx, who did you contact at the time to have this resolved? My TV is really hot and I am worried it might catch fire!

I contacted Samsung direct who did not care. Told me I would have to get it repaired myself at a cost of £500 even though it's a fault that they are aware of. Replaced my TV with a LG. Much better. Would never buy another Samsung product again. Very poor customer service.

Yes, I also got told yesterday that I need to pay for a repair service. I hope the TV doesn't catch fire or they'll get sued.

Same here, except the corner of mine melted. They said it would cost more to repair than me to go out and just buy one. It's a little over 6 years old. Guess i cannot do anything at this point.
