@Members_P6LxCbu: Please can you confirm the model number of your TV? This can be found on the sticker on the back of the device, or in Settings > Support > About This TV.

Also, do you have an aerial connected to the TV? If so, set the Source to 'Live TV', then head to Settings > Broadcasting > Auto Tuning, and follow the on-screen instructions.

exactly the same here...paid over £2k for a telly... with no ITV! Not that i watch much tv

but with sport you want the full experience. Apps are very in an out and using those

defeats the object anyway

Hi, for most standard broadcasting channels, an aerial is needed unless you have an app, for example, Freeview Play in the UK, which uses the Internet for broadcast channels instead of an aerial connection.

hi

re: still having a problem getting freeview tv on my new samsung tv.

when i press the samsung smart tv button and look at apps i might download, freeview tv does not show? i did go ahead and sign up for bbc iplayer (which does show in the selections available) and that works (i hoped if i did that when i then pressed samsung guide...bbc1 etc  would show. the bbc channels to watch live tv still do not show on guide). sorry but any more ideas? a puzzle

i still do not have access to the regular tv channels i was able to access before i set up my new samsung tv last weekwould show

@Members_P6LxCbu: Freeview channels aren't accessible via downloaded apps, but via the 'Live TV' source. If you press the Home button and navigate over to 'Source' then you can access it from here. Alternatively, press the Source button on your standard remote, and choose from the available options.

hello andrew

it remains a mystery. i accessed the ' live tv' off of home when i first hooked up the new samsung tv to find the freeview channels to no avail. i also just bought a new cord for the building antenna on the off chance that was the problem. i have also navigated over to source and  looked for the freeview channels; bbc channels do not show.

before i changed from my old sony to the new samsung tv i had bbc showing on my guide along with all the others. now nada. i think i am going to wait until i have someone come over who has more it savvy than i and hope that person can enlighten me.

that said, i am grateful for your advice.

@Members_P6LxCbu: A hands on approach may be more beneficial in this instance, however I would still like to work with you to get to the bottom of this issue.

Please can you confirm the model number of your TV? This can be found on the sticker on the back of the device, or in Settings > Support > About This TV.

Also, set the Source to 'Live TV', then head to Settings > Broadcasting > Auto Tuning, and follow the on-screen instructions. When in the Live TV source, check the left side of the screen for the 'Guide', then explore the available categories. I can't be more specific at this stage, so please confirm your TV model number, as this will be helpful as part of the troubleshooting process.

hi Andrew

you are very kind to see if you might help further.  I was able to follow the Samsung directives to a T when setting up the new tv with no problem. Disney, Netflix, Amazon prime all working great. I only set up the tv using samsung remotes and did not pair with my talk talk homebox. following your suggestion, i looked for the bbc channels and signed up for channel 4 which did show on the selections...i did this through bbc.

nevertheless, when i press 'guide.'...the freeview channels do not show for me to select for instance bbc1. when i started the community enquiry i did get a reply from another samsung tv user who said he had the same problem....he does not have bbc1 etc freeview so evidently one other person had this same problem setting up the tv. thank you again
