I bought my TV about a month ago and have experienced an intermittent issue where the sound cuts for like half a second around once every 20 seconds. I am running a Sky Q set up just through the TV speakers and when this issue first started I was using HDMI 1 port, I switched the sky q to HDMI 3 (ARC) and this cleared it for a few days then this morning its back again. I tried the xbox which is in hdmi 2 and that also was doing the same issue with the sound which rules out a sky q setup problem. I have down powered the TV and switched it back on at the wall and for the time being its resolved the issue however I am not sure if this will now cure the problem. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I know if I call in an engineer it's bound to all behave itself. Thanks in advance. Mark.

I'm having the same issue, I'm not sure if it's the sky q box or the tv. It's all to do with 5.1 sound. On the samsung 55" s95b,

Please see https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tv/qe55s90-with-hw-s800b-sound-cutting-out/m-p/9523461#M94081 as there are known issues with the current firmware.

Hi, my TV is a Samsung Q60a hooked up to a Denon AV Receiver with eARC

I've started experiencing the same issue where sound is dropping out, usually starts after about 30 mins of the TV being on and continuing there after every so often for a second or two. I did a factory reset from service menu and it seemed to work.

But... before doing the reset I photographed all my settings so I could input them again after reset. When on the sound settings I noticed it didn't say Receiver earc hdmi so I checked Expert settings and enabled HDMI-eARC Mode back to auto from off, and the issue started almost immediately. I turned the settings back to off so basically it's changing it from eARC to just ARC and it was ok again.

So the issue is with the eARC being enabled. I'm sure this has been mucked up due to a firmware update as it didn't always happen. ARC works fine without the dropout, eARC the dropouts happen. This is a slight issue for me as most of my connections for 5.1 audio go straight to the Receiver but for others who want higher quality like Atmos from the TV, you need the eARC enabled to output the higher quality audio to a soundbar for instance.

This isn't a solution as such as it needs sorting from Samsung, but it might be a temporary fix for some
