I bought a Q80T a couple of days ago and have noticed a really annoying issue when using the tv with the combination of HDR and game mode.
I'm fairly certain this is a software bug in the TV since I can reproduce this issue with 100% accuracy, and it happens on the dot at the same moment every time. It's basically on a timer.
Basically when the game is displaying a HDR signal and game mode is enabled, exactly after 6 minutes the brightness of the TV suddenly drops by around 20 (50 -> 30). The value of brightness setting doesn't actually change however. Messing with the brightness setting does not restore the brightness to it's original state, but changing the local dimming setting from standard to low and then back to standard does. Switching game mode off and then back on also fixes the issue, but then it happens again EXACTLY after 6 minutes (I've timed this with a stopwatch).
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Or can someone maybe test this on their TV to see if you can reproduce it?
Exact repro steps on how I can reproduce this 100% of the time on the PS4 Pro:
Some other notes: The PS4 has a screensaver that basically dims the screen if it is idle for a while. This is not the cause of this, this happens even when the console is in active use and the brightness can be restored temporarily by changing the local dimming setting like described above. I have not managed to reproduce this issue with game mode off, so it seems to be related to game mode.
Software version: 1304

Will they improve localdimming in game mode? before the first update it was perfect.

Now it is even better on 1402.7 especially in HDR movie preset and HDR game-mode
I'm talking about q95t only

I installed that firmware that you provided the link a few pages ago. In this version, I found the localdimming in game mode broken, it just seems to increase the brightness, and it doesn't control blooming or improve black. Another one will come out? Mine is the q95t.

Did you get a second 1402 update?

I tried to install the official firmware from (https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/qled-tv-q80t-2020) via USB and it still says I'm on the current version. My TV is on software version 1402.1.
Did my TV update already? I keep seeing people mention 1402.7 and I thought that was the firmware everyone is waiting for that fixes local dimming.

Where did you get it? Which Samsung website? Which country in Europe?

So those who have already upgraded to version 1402.7 will not be able to update the corrected firmware because the TV will not replace the same firmware (1402.7)

Suriya got it direct from Samsung support. I guess because he moaned to them a lot! Haha. Also, nobody in the EU *should* have the update yet so I’ve no idea what will happen to those that have downloaded it from Suriya’s link.

This update you provided did not fix the local dimming in game mode with Game Motion Plus DISABLED.

We will be fuc***, because if samsung has not yet released this update that it provided (1402.7) to correct it, and launch it corrected with the same numbering (1402.7) it will not be possible to update the corrected firmware because the TV will not update to " even "firmware. Toamara that samsung launches with another numbering 1403 for example for the TV to recognize with a new update.
