I recently bought a Samsung TV model QN85QN95CCFXZA within the first week we noticed it dims automatically, to the point where its unwatchable. Happens daily - day or night. I thing googled and found this is really an issue with lots of folks - and each article is ALWAYS the same: check the settings - disable:
What Samsung says:
"If your Samsung TV dims or brightens automatically, this isn't a problem. It is a feature that Samsung has added intentionally. The Ambient Light Detection function (also called ECO Sensor on some older models) measures the light in the room and changes the screen brightness automatically to reduce power consumption."
This is awful.. the TV continues to dim no matter what settings are disabled...
1. Brightness Optimization - Check
2. Disable Intelligent Mode - Check
3. Ambient Light Detection - check
4. Anything else - check
Does ANYBODY know how to fix this OR do I have a dud TV? Because NONE of the settings make ANY difference??

Thank you for the reply… unfortunately that does not resolve the issue… I have absolutely no settings currently on that would include ANY eco or power savings features.

To be clear:
1. Brightness Optimization - off
2. Intelligent Mode - off
3. Ambient Light Detection - off
4. Eco Mode - off
Now my Picture is ALWAYS dim.... will not get bright period.

Here is all my settings that (per google/Samsung) need to be checked:
Picture Mode - Standard
Expert Settings> Local Dimming OFF
Expert Settings> Contrast Enhancer Off
General & Privacy > Intelligent Mode Setting OFF
General & Privacy > Power and Energy > Brightness Optimization OFF
Energy Saving Solution OFF
Each time I turn on the TV the screen so so dim is unwatchable

Thank you very much for the reply…
yes we have factory restarted the TV several times… at the beginning of the reset the TV is fine for like 5 minutes… you can see the picture flickering light to dim… finally it just goes dim… again too much to where you can’t even see the screen
