QE49 Q80TAT - HDMI Issue

Only use the TV to watch sky tv in the kitchen. Sometimes when I turn the tv on it will be zoomed to the top left corner of the sky Home Screen. Have to power off the tv at the wall multiple times to get the whole screen to be visible. It will do this every day for about a week, then the issue disappears for a few days/weeks before coming back. Have tried all HDMI ports on tv issues still happens.

Took tv off the wall today and plugged the sky box that is attached to a Sony A90J in another room and working, and issue still happens on the Q80 only. TV on pictured on floor is the Samsung Q80. On stand is the Sony.

It's a sky HDMI handshake issues. Been around 10+ years! You can press "home 1080" on the sku remote and should reset it.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately it doesn’t fix it. Even put a CEC less adaptor between sky box and tv, issue still happens. Unplugging HDMI and plugging it into a different HDMI fixes it short term, unfortunately can’t do that when it’s back on the wall. Think it must be a software issue with the Q80 as have an older Samsung, new LG and a Sony and the sky stream boxes work without any issues.

Yeah its odd, my mother in law has Q60C with the resolution not supported seems sky blame Samsung and back the other way.

Only a last idea a HDMi switch ? Puts something in middle then. Also done all the software updates on the TV?
