Looks like firmware 1401 breaks the subtitles for files played from USB devices.
Once the first one appears, instead of ending when it should, it stays visible forever or until the next title replaces it.

This happens on my Q90R and I also tried a total factory reset but it didn't fix the problem.

If they released a firm beta 1409.1, how can they launch a firm months later 1406.4.  Those of us who installed the beta that was released for the PS5 sound cuts do not allow us to install this new firm, and we still have the problem with the subtitles.

I don't know what's happening at Samsung..For two days my TV was showing a 1406 firmware.I didn't update it because I'm using the 1404 that I uploaded here and it works. Now out of curiosity I searched for it so I can post a picture of it here. But it can't find a new firmware. So they withdrew the 1406.Maybe they also realized that the people who updated to 1409 can't update now..

Same here, 1406.04 fixes the subtitles problem but not the problem related with auto switching back sound output from HDMI to TV Sound...

I haven't updated, and from what I've been able to read in other forum posts, I don't plan on doing it. It seems like 1420.0 brings more problems than it solves.

I did, and let me tell you.... I DEEPLY REGRET IT. This fw introduced a horrible audio sync issue with the S/PDIF out. Now for the life on me CANNOT use my sony muteki.

Samsung support from my country (Argentina) doesnt want (or doesnt know how to) escalate this issue with the development department.

If you DONT use S/PDIF, updating to this firmware fixes the subtitle bug. (that at least, works flawlessly)
